FalconX, a leading digital asset trading firm serving institutional crypto clients, has transferred another 50,000 Hyperliquid (HYPE) tokens to Coinbase, bringing its total exchange deposits to 350,000 HYPE over the past three days. The latest transaction was valued at approximately $4.2 million, and the entire series of deposits now amasses about $30.57 million at recent prices.

Onchain Lens, an on-chain market analytics service, drew attention to the most recent FalconX deposit into Coinbase. The ongoing transfers have fueled market discussions regarding whether these tokens could appear as significant sell-side activity.

Despite the spike in exchange inflows, not all token deposits translate directly into immediate sales. Many tokens may remain idle in exchange wallets, serve liquidity needs, or be used for other operational purposes by trading desks. Analysts emphasize that only actual executed trades will determine the real effect on the token’s market price, rather than transfer notifications alone.

FalconX’s presence in these large transactions has made it a frequent subject of on-chain whale movement alerts. Blockchain trackers can highlight these substantial wallet-to-exchange actions but are unable to confirm the intent behind the transfers. FalconX has not issued any public statement explaining the reason for moving its HYPE holdings.

These developments have coincided with other market commentary about Coinbase, such as the recent spread between Bitcoin prices on Coinbase and Binance. While the spread discussion is unrelated to the HYPE inflows, it adds further attention to trading activity and liquidity issues on Coinbase as large token transfers continue.

Potential selling pressure after large deposits

Large exchange deposits often signal potential selling activity since the tokens become readily available for trading. However, such inflows do not guarantee immediate sales, as some assets may be held for other strategic reasons or internal flows.

Repeated deposits of HYPE to Coinbase by FalconX have heightened trader observation, but actual sales, not just transfers, will determine whether the inflows result in downward price pressure or are absorbed by the market.

Data from CoinMarketCap placed HYPE near $85 during the latest transfer. At this valuation, FalconX’s recent transfers carry significant value, and the market is closely watching to see whether buying demand will match potential selling interest. If market demand remains robust, the effect of such large sales could be muted. Conversely, weaker demand could make large liquidations more visible in price action.

Spotlight on FalconX’s next move

Market participants are focused on whether FalconX will continue sending HYPE to exchanges and if these flows will transition into confirmed selling on Coinbase’s order book. The upcoming price movements will reveal whether there are enough buyers to absorb the new supply.

The sequence of confirmed sales and subsequent market demand will ultimately determine HYPE’s price trend, rather than transfer patterns alone. Until actual sales data emerge, traders are left to monitor on-chain alerts and exchange volumes for new signals.
