Cardano News Today: Mainnet, Node and NIGHT Partnership Update

Something odd is unfolding in Cardano news today. The network just shipped real upgrades, a new DeFi product went live, and Midnight’s privacy tech reached outside its own chain. Yet ADA and NIGHT are both sliding instead of climbing. That gap between building and selling is the real story this week.
Key Takeaways

ADA trades at $0.188 today, down 2.7% in 24 hours and 7.8% over the week, close to its weekly low of $0.186.

Cardano delivered three updates in one week: the Node 11.2 pre-release, Atlas’s live perpetuals DEX, and Midnight crossing 1.3 million transactions.

NIGHT sits at $0.04012, down 3.7% today but still up 2.3% over seven days, even as Cardano news today points to a broader market pullback.

That’s a steep weekly crash for a token that just delivered three pieces of good news, which tells you sentiment is tracking the wider market mood, not Cardano-specific fundamentals.

Cardano Node 11.2 Brings the Dijkstra Hard Fork Closer

Per Cardanians’ X post, Cardano Node 11.2 is now live as a pre-release, moving the network a step closer to the Dijkstra hard fork. It brings a new configuration system, a wider node API, and groundwork for upcoming protocol features.

Node 11.2.0 is not yet recommended for mainnet use. Its headline change is a shift to the new cardano-config library, which lets the node read a versioned configuration envelope alongside the older flat format. Every network’s published configuration files now use that envelope format.
The release also extends the gRPC interface, continues building toward Leios and Peras, and fixes several operator-facing bugs. Node 11.3, which will bring Leios itself, is already in development.

Atlas Beta Mainnet Opens Perpetual Trading on Cardano

According to Atlas’s X post, the Atlas Beta Public Mainnet is now live, opening perpetual trading on Cardano for the first time. After months of building and testing, the new perpetuals DEX lets users trade crypto assets using stablecoin collateral, with market or limit orders.

Traders can manage open positions with take-profit and stop-loss orders too. It’s another addition to Cardano’s growing DeFi lineup.

Midnight Crosses 1.3 Million Transactions and Links Up With Ethereum

Per an X post citing Midnight Explorer, the Midnight blockchain has processed more than 1,300,000 transactions. Midnight’s mainnet launched seven months ago, though permissionless smart contracts have only been live for about a month, which makes this milestone notable this early.

Separately, Midnight’s official post announced a partnership with Sig Network to bring Midnight’s programmable privacy to Ethereum applications. Ethereum apps can now keep their liquidity on Ethereum while user balances and identities stay shielded on Midnight, extending privacy beyond one network’s boundaries.
As per CoinGecko data, the Midnight NIGHT token price is $0.04012, down 3.7% in 24 hours. Its market cap stands at $666.538 million, with 24 hour trading volume of $10.467 million.

Even with today’s dip, NIGHT remains up 2.3% over the past week, so the weekly trend stays positive despite the daily pullback dragging most of the market down.

What Next for Cardano? Watch the Amaru Mainnet Launch

Per an X post, Amaru’s block-producing node is scheduled for release on the Cardano mainnet on November 5. The release adds an independent node implementation to Cardano’s block production, a step toward reducing reliance on a single client and improving node diversity. Whether this changes ADA price today remains to be seen, since markets have shrugged off good news all week.
Expert Opinion: Market analysts tracking Cardano blockchain note that price action and development activity are moving in opposite directions this week, a pattern common during broader pullbacks when traders sell first and ask questions later. The volume of shipped updates, Node 11.2, a live perpetuals DEX, and Midnight’s transaction milestone, suggests the roadmap remains on schedule even as price struggles.
The broader signal in Cardano news today is that delivery and price are moving independently this week, and analysts say near-term moves often lag fundamentals by weeks or months. The Amaru mainnet release on November 5 could be the next signal traders watch closely.

Conclusion

Cardano news today shows a network doing real work, Node 11.2, Atlas’s DeFi launch, and Midnight’s Ethereum tie-up, while ADA and NIGHT prices fall anyway. Markets aren’t pricing in delivery right now. Amaru’s November 5 mainnet debut is the next test of whether fundamentals can pull ADA off its weekly low.
