An updated public notice dated October 30 identifies 50 companies that have submitted formal issuer objections, up from 38 two days earlier. Of the 62 companies originally selected for potential trading, 43 have now objected, representing approximately 69% of the initial roster. The objections present a commercial challenge for OKXICE before its launch. While the Securities and Exchange Commission has created a temporary regulatory pathway for around-the-clock trading of tokenized US stocks, issuers retain the ability to prevent unaffiliated third parties from offering blockchain representations of their shares on specific venues.

How Much of OKXICE's Original Stock List Is Left?
The October 30 notice added 12 companies to the objection list: Nvidia, Costco, Micron, Nike, CrowdStrike, Corning, IREN, USA Rare Earth, Bloom Energy, Palo Alto Networks, Reddit and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. They join earlier objectors including Microsoft, Alphabet, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Walmart, Intel and Oracle. Not all 50 objectors were included in OKXICE's initial selection. Seven companies submitted objections despite being absent from the original roster, leaving 43 objectors among the 62 initially selected issuers. That leaves 19 companies from the original selection without a disclosed objection as of October 30. They include Apple, Amazon, Tesla, Netflix, Coinbase, Circle, Robinhood, Palantir and Strategy. The latest figures extend the opposition documented by FinanceFeeds on October 28, when the disclosed objection count stood at 33. Importantly, the absence of an objection does not establish that a company has endorsed the platform, agreed to participate or confirmed that its tokenized shares will become available for trading.

What Does the SEC's Innovation Exemption Allow?
OKXICE operates under the SEC's five-year Innovation Exemption, introduced on September 17, 2026. The framework grants temporary, conditional relief allowing qualifying Tokenized Securities Venues to facilitate trading in tokenized National Market System stocks through permissioned automated market makers and liquidity pools. When a venue intends to trade a stock tokenized by an unaffiliated third party, it must notify the underlying issuer. The company has 30 calendar days after receiving that notice to submit a written objection. A timely objection prevents the venue from offering the relevant tokenized security under the exemption. It does not prohibit conventional trading in the underlying shares, prevent issuer-sponsored tokenization or automatically extend to other venues. The framework also requires tokenized shares to provide equivalent economic and governance rights, including dividends and voting rights. Trading must stop when the underlying stock is halted on its primary exchange, while transaction volumes and the number of eligible securities remain subject to regulatory limits. OKX and ICE filed their original plans for the platform in October, proposing continuous trading and blockchain-based settlement supported by stablecoins.

Issuer objections directly restrict OKXICE's eligible stock selection, but do not prevent the affected companies from pursuing tokenization through other arrangements.

Why Are Public Companies Objecting?
OKXICE's public notices do not explain the reasons behind individual objections. The decisions should therefore not be interpreted as evidence that all 50 companies oppose blockchain-based securities or share identical concerns. However, the proposed trading model introduces questions about price discovery, liquidity fragmentation and how tokenized securities would interact with conventional stock markets. OKXICE intends to use permissioned liquidity pools based on Uniswap v4 technology on OKX's X Layer blockchain. Transactions would operate outside traditional exchange trading hours, with prices determined through liquidity-pool mechanisms. This structure could create differences between tokenized stock prices and quotations on conventional exchanges, particularly during periods of limited liquidity. JPMorgan Chase, an earlier objector, has indicated that it remains interested in tokenization while evaluating how its shares would be represented and traded. Its position illustrates why opposing one venue does not necessarily indicate opposition to the underlying technology. Andrew Cuomo, OKXICE's co-chairman and former New York governor, acknowledged during an October 30 press conference that some companies wanted to observe how the market operated before deciding whether to participate.

The objections expose a distinction between regulatory eligibility and commercial acceptance. A venue may be technically ready to operate without attracting the issuers or liquidity needed for scale.

What Happens Next for OKXICE and Tokenized Stocks?
OKXICE has not announced a confirmed launch date. The original public notice was published on October 4, placing the end of a corresponding 30-day notification period around November 3 for issuers receiving notice that day. However, objection deadlines depend on when individual companies received their notices. Venues also have up to five business days to publish newly received objections, meaning the disclosed list may lag issuer decisions. Meanwhile, ICE is separately developing a NYSE tokenized securities platform designed to combine traditional exchange technology with blockchain-based settlement. That project is distinct from the OKXICE venture and remains subject to its own regulatory requirements. The next indication of OKXICE's commercial prospects will come from its updated issuer list, confirmed trading launch arrangements and the liquidity available in its initial tokenized securities. With approximately seven in ten originally selected issuers already objecting, the immediate challenge is no longer simply whether tokenized stock trading can operate under the SEC exemption. It is whether the remaining securities can attract enough trading activity to sustain a competitive marketplace.
