Pump.fun faced renewed questions after an X post claimed only 312 launched tokens currently exceeded a $100,000 market capitalization. The tally covered 24.4 million launches, highlighting a small share holding that valuation. PUMP also fell nearly 30% in October.
The figures have fueled debate about whether weaker demand explains the decline. They also raise questions about how launchpad activity translates into lasting value. However, the widely shared count measures current valuations, leaving the number of tokens that previously crossed $100,000 unclear. That distinction matters when comparing platforms or assessing the outlook for the memecoin market over coming weeks.

An archived Market Insider post listed 24.4 million Pump.fun launches and 312 tokens currently above $100,000. Dividing those figures produces approximately 0.00128%, or one token for every 78,205 launches.

Rounding the launch total to 24 million gives the widely cited 0.0013% share. Both calculations describe tokens holding that valuation when counted, rather than every token that reached it historically.
The Stonk.fun comparison used 75 tokens above $100,000 from 197,664 launches. That equals roughly 0.038%, around 30 times the share calculated using 24.4 million launches.
The underlying dataset behind the posts could not be independently verified. Different coverage of tokens traded elsewhere could also change the comparison between platforms with very different launch totals.
Comparing those percentages requires consistent collection times and valuation methods. Token age also matters because newer launches have had less time to attract buyers or lose value. Neither social media count establishes the likelihood of an individual trader making money.
For Pump.fun, the figures offer a narrow measure of current valuations. Active traders, repeat users, and transaction volume would provide more direct evidence of demand for the platform.
The difference matters because a token can trade actively while remaining below a particular market capitalization. Conversely, a token above $100,000 may have limited liquidity, affecting how easily holders can sell.
Market capitalization measures token supply multiplied by price. It does not show how much money buyers could withdraw from trading pools. Assessing token outcomes therefore requires information about trading depth, holding periods, and actual returns alongside headline valuations.
Pump.fun charges no platform fee to create a coin, according to its documentation. Creators still pay network transaction costs and deposits needed for onchain accounts. This lowers the financial barrier to launching.

PUMP Price Falls as the Memecoin Market Loses Ground

The memecoin market lost 15% of its capitalization in October, a decline exceeding $5 billion. The same report put the broader crypto market decline at roughly $250 billion.
Memecoins therefore accounted for about 2% of those reported dollar losses. Their smaller contribution reflects their relative size, while the percentage decline still signals substantial weakness within the category.

PUMP underperformed both, with its near 30% decline exceeding those reported losses.
Co-founder Alon linked the token’s short-term weakness to broader market conditions. He remained optimistic about its longer-term prospects. The parallel declines suggest shared market pressure, although price comparisons alone cannot establish the causes of selling.
Pump.fun depends on continued trading across newly launched tokens and existing pools. Weaker turnover could reduce fee income even if creators keep producing new coins. That makes sustained participation relevant to both the platform’s business and sentiment surrounding PUMP.
Analysts have identified $0.004 as a support level for the token. Whether buyers defend that area depends on demand, available liquidity, and broader trading conditions.
The Pump.fun fee schedule provides a clearer view of its revenue model. Its published bonding curve charges total trading fees of 1.25%. Those fees include a 0.95% protocol share and a 0.30% creator share.
