CoinDCX futures trading has resumed after crypto hack across most markets on October 30, 2026, after a short precautionary pause. Four tokens, SOPH, ERA, GTC and LA, remain in Reduce-Only mode. The Indian exchange said the pause followed recent developments at a global liquidity provider.

CoinDCX first placed its futures market in Reduce-Only mode on the morning of October 30. Under that mode, traders could not open new positions or add to existing ones. They could still add or remove margin and reduce or close open positions.
Later, the exchange posted an update on X saying futures trading was fully operational across all markets, except four tokens that remain in Reduce-Only mode as a precaution. For active traders, this matters because most contracts can again be opened and increased as normal.

CoinDCX named four tokens that are still restricted. The limits apply to both INR and USDT pairs.

For these tokens, traders cannot open fresh positions or raise their exposure. They can still reduce or close what they already hold. CoinDCX said its risk team is monitoring these markets for possible manipulation and unusual volatility. The exchange did not say how long the limits will last.

Why Did CoinDCX Temporarily Restrict Futures Trading?

In its first post, CoinDCX exchange said the step was a precaution after recent developments affecting a global liquidity provider. It did not name the provider. The Defiant also noted that the exchange did not describe how much exposure it had to that provider.
The provider was later identified. According to coverage citing CoinDesk, a CoinDCX spokesperson named Binance as the affected liquidity provider. That identification comes from the spokesperson’s comments to CoinDesk, not from the exchange’s X post.
The reason this matters is simple. Many exchanges rely on outside venues for part of their futures liquidity. If a major source is disrupted, order books can thin out, and prices can move sharply. Limiting new positions is one way to cut risk while the situation is assessed.

Binance Security Incident and Its Possible Impact on Crypto Liquidity

Several outlets linked the pause to a Binance Hack reported on October 30. Dailycrypto said Binance suspended deposits and withdrawals, and that Aave froze its lending markets.
It also reported that Circle and Tether froze more than $2.38 billion in assets, and that Ripple froze about $200 million. These figures come from a single outlet, so readers should treat them with care until confirmed by primary sources.
A liquidity disruption is not the same as a confirmed loss of customer funds. It means trading conditions may become harder or less stable. The timing of the Binance news and the CoinDCX pause lines up, but CoinDCX has not said the incident directly caused its decision. Readers should keep that distinction in mind.
The Defiant also reported that CoinDCX disclosed wallet-sweeping losses on October 22. The exchange said it absorbed those losses and credited affected deposits. That event is separate from the futures pause.

CoinDCX said user funds are safe and that deposits and withdrawals worked normally throughout the pause. Its status page also showed spot trading as operational. These are the exchange’s own statements. They are not independent proof of its overall financial health.
During Reduce-Only mode, traders could add or remove margin, and reduce or close positions. They could not open new trades. The latest update does not mean every market is back to normal. SOPH, ERA, GTC, and LA are still limited, so traders holding these contracts should plan around that. Always check CoinDCX’s official channels before placing any trade.

Traders following CoinDCX futures trading should keep an eye on a few points:

Whether SOPH, ERA, GTC, and LA return to normal trading.

Whether CoinDCX shares more details about its liquidity provider.

Whether the exchange adds new risk controls.

Changes in liquidity and volatility in the affected markets.

Official CoinDCX posts about trading availability.

Conclusion

CoinDCX futures trading is back in most markets, which is the key update for traders. Four tokens, SOPH, ERA, GTC and LA, remain in Reduce-Only mode while the risk team watches for manipulation and sharp price moves.
Binance was named as the liquidity provider by a CoinDCX spokesperson, but the exchange has not publicly linked its decision to any specific incident. Follow official updates for changes.
The Exchange follows operations that comply with applicable laws and regulations. It is prepared to respond to any further questions from authorities. It also assured users that the platform is operating as usual and that their funds remain secure.
