The warning concerns a Trezor Safe 5 device.

No customer losses have been reported.

Customers who bought from CryptoBilis since March 2026 are advised to transfer funds to new wallets with new recovery phrases.

CryptoBilis was removed as an authorized Trezor reseller on October 9.

What would settle it: Trezor's own statement or laboratory examination report on the specific device(s) in question.

Treat the core warning and advice to move funds as established, since both outlets agree on it; do not treat claims about whether Trezor has physically inspected the device(s) as settled until Trezor issues a clarifying statement, as the two reports directly conflict on this point.

Update 30 Oct 2026, 08:48 UTC · added by Coinfomania, The Cryptonomist EN

Cryptonomist dates the disclosure to October 28, 2026 and identifies the affected unit as a Safe 5 purchased via Tokopedia in August 2026, with the warning extended to anyone who bought devices through CryptoBilis since March 2026. Per Cryptonomist, Trezor considers the report credible but says it has not yet physically examined the device, and no CryptoBilis buyer has reported losses so far. Coinfomania separately reports that Trezor is urging affected customers to transfer funds to new wallets immediately as a precaution.

Update 30 Oct 2026, 08:56 UTC · added by The Block

The Block identifies the retailer involved as CryptoBilis and reports Trezor’s advisory specifically names the Safe 5 model as the device affected, urging buyers who purchased through that retailer to migrate their funds as a precaution.

Update 30 Oct 2026, 09:33 UTC · added by Cointelegraph

Cointelegraph adds that Trezor has identified CryptoBilis as the specific former authorized reseller involved, and specifies the device in question as a Safe 5 model with a suspected hardware implant. The outlet also reports that Trezor is urging customers who purchased from CryptoBilis since March to move their funds, giving the affected sales window a concrete start date not previously specified.

Update 30 Oct 2026, 10:08 UTC · added by Decrypt

Decrypt reports that Trezor has specified the reseller involved, CryptoBilis, and the purchase window, August, while confirming Trezor itself has not yet examined the device—cutting against the account claiming an examination occurred. Decrypt also adds technical detail on the alleged implant’s method, saying it reads the wallet backup from the screen and transmits it over a mobile network, with Trezor noting similarities to a prior Ledger incident. Trezor is urging anyone who bought a Safe 5 from CryptoBilis since August to take precautions.
