The breach was linked to a compromised third-party monitoring script from DebugBear.

Polymarket placed trading into cancel-only mode on October 29, 2026.

Approximately $2.65-2.7 million was drained across roughly 710 wallets.

The matter was referred to UK law enforcement.

Trading was restored the same day.

Polymarket's US platform was not affected; only the international exchange was impacted.

Update 30 Oct 2026, 07:15 UTC · added by Crypto News Australia

Crypto News Australia reports that Polymarket has resumed trading following the incident, framing the exploit alongside a separately reported Binance hack that occurred around the same time, with Binance maintaining user funds remain safe. The outlet also notes Polymarket’s stated commitment to make affected users whole, though it does not independently confirm whether reimbursements have actually been issued.

Update 30 Oct 2026, 09:10 UTC · added by The Cryptonomist EN

The Cryptonomist adds a specific incident date, October 29, 2026, and reports a loss estimate of roughly $2.7 million from DeFi Llama, tying the breach to a compromised third-party provider on Polymarket’s international platform. It also notes this marks the second such third-party breach to cost Polymarket users funds in recent months, and that users had flagged unauthorized withdrawals on X before Polymarket made any disclosure.

Update 30 Oct 2026, 10:32 UTC · added by CryptoSlate

CryptoSlate reports this is Polymarket’s second multimillion-dollar security breach in four months, following an earlier incident in June involving a script attack, and notes the platform has since restored trading. It adds that researchers examining October’s exploit found code seeking a live trading client and signer, though this did not prove silent signatures or every programmed transfer occurred, and that Polymarket’s official notice left the total losses unspecified.
