Key details of the partnership

ICE, a global operator of exchanges and clearing houses including the NYSE, intends to collaborate with Hyperliquid and trade[XYZ] to create a new market featuring perpetual futures on cryptocurrencies, equities, commodities, foreign exchange, and additional real-world assets. This initiative remains subject to regulatory approval.

According to the arrangement, Hyperliquid will provide the underlying technology through its HIP-3 protocol. Trade[XYZ] will be responsible for market design and infrastructure, while ICE oversees the regulated market and the clearing process.

This collaboration has the potential to integrate onchain trading architecture with established financial infrastructure, facilitating the entry of blockchain-based derivatives into mainstream markets. ICE’s involvement may differentiate this project from typical crypto exchange expansions, particularly through regulated market participation.

If regulatory agencies give approval, the partnership could extend Hyperliquid’s presence far beyond crypto trading, opening onchain access to traditionally traded assets such as stocks, commodities, and currency pairs. The move signals growing interest among institutions in blockchain-powered trading solutions.

The protocol aims to facilitate secure and efficient onchain trading.

Market impact and HYPE token outlook

Traders and analysts have closely monitored HYPE, the native token of Hyperliquid, as the partnership announcement pushed its price to $85. Market analyst Michael van de Poppe noted the recovery in HYPE’s price, highlighting an upside target between $110 and $120, contingent on sustained market support.

Van de Poppe pointed out a recent price formation including a swift recovery after previous declines, suggesting that buying momentum has returned. However, he cautioned that maintaining key support levels is essential for further gains, and failure to do so could reverse the bullish structure.

Michael van de Poppe emphasized that, while the ICE partnership represents a significant leap in institutional interest, HYPE’s rally to $110-$120 depends on the token’s ability to hold recovered support levels and draw continued demand. The outcome remains uncertain until more information on launch and regulatory clearance emerges.

The positive momentum in HYPE coincides with broader expectations for increased liquidity and participation if the ICE-Hyperliquid initiative proceeds. Market participants will look for rising trading volumes and timely progress on regulatory milestones.

Challenges and next steps

While the collaboration has generated optimism, several key variables remain unresolved. Regulatory bodies must approve both the perpetual futures markets and eligible asset classes before the initiative can be launched. ICE, Hyperliquid, and trade[XYZ] have not yet provided a definitive launch timeline or a final list of supported assets.

Sustained growth in HYPE’s price will depend on continued demand and the market’s reaction to regulatory developments. ICE’s established infrastructure and broad institutional network could help drive adoption, but significant progress will hinge on transparent rollout plans.

Hyperliquid, an emerging blockchain protocol specializing in decentralized perpetual futures, is seeking to expand its role within institutional finance. ICE is a leading operator of global exchanges and clearing houses, while trade[XYZ] focuses on developing digital asset markets and solutions.

The collaboration among ICE, Hyperliquid, and trade[XYZ] could reshape onchain access to perpetual trading for both digital and traditional assets, pending regulatory approval and successful implementation.
