Uniswap Labs launched TJAR on October 29, opening its fee-conversion infrastructure to outside applications with Robinhood as the first integration partner. The tool helps businesses collect fees in different assets and receive proceeds in a preferred token. It extends a system originally developed for Uniswap’s protocol fees, reducing the need for teams to build their own conversion infrastructure.

According to Uniswap’s documentation, applications send collected assets into a Token Jar. Operators select a payout token, specify a fixed payment amount and choose where proceeds should go.
A third-party searcher pays that amount through a Releaser contract and receives the selected assets from the jar. The payment goes to the application’s designated recipient, such as its treasury.
TJAR does not price each deposited asset or automatically adjust its threshold through an oracle. Searchers assess whether the available holdings justify the required payment and transaction costs before initiating a release.
That distinction matters: depositing tokens does not itself trigger conversion. Execution depends on a searcher accepting the configured terms, so receipt of fees and conversion need not happen simultaneously.
Operators can deploy a jar in one transaction and later change its token, payment amount or destination. They can also permanently lock the configuration.

Robinhood is already using the framework for fees collected through the Uniswap API across its supported chains. Uniswap Labs says Robinhood receives USDC and USDG from its jars.
The company reported that the original Token Jar framework processed more than $15.3 million in conversions during September. That figure predates the broader rollout and does not represent revenue earned by the new service.
TJAR is live on seven chains, with additional integrations planned. Developers can access the source code, deployment information and published security reviews.
Uniswap’s own deployment uses UNI as its payment token and sends proceeds to a burn address. Other applications can choose different assets and recipients. Uniswap DAO governance controls an optional protocol fee. The documentation says none is currently set.
