As of October 29, 2026, the latest BNB Chain News is about payments getting reserved room on the BNB Smart Chain testnet.
Per theofficial blog post from October 28, BSC Payment reserves 5% of every block’s gas for eligible payments.
It ships with the Jenner hard fork, which is live on the BSC testnet. For readers tracking Crypto news today, this is a protocol change, not a token event.

What Is Payment Lane on BNB Chain?

BSC Payment Lane explained simply: on busy days, a routine competes with every other transaction for block space.
The BEP-703 Payment Lane design, detailed in theBEP-703 specification, sets aside part of the limit for transactions on BSC, so network congestion hurts merchants less.
BEP-703 explained in one line: general transactions cannot touch the reserved gas, even when demand is low.
BNB Chain 5% block gas for payments is the default, and governance can raise it to 10%.

The blog calls this a hypothetical block with a 100 million gas limit. The block gas reservation is an accounting rule, not a live gas figure.

Governance-listed contracts: direct transactions to contracts on the approved list.

The list starts empty, so stablecoin transfers and tokens under the CAS20 token standard need separate governance approval. Fees still apply, and inclusion is not guaranteed.

BNB Chain Jenner Hard Fork Explained: What Else Changes?

The Jenner upgrade notice names three proposals in this release, and Lane is only one of them. BEP-702 and BEP-706 ship alongside it. BEP-702 brings CAS20, a compliance-focused token standard for assets like stablecoins. BEP-706 adds a millisecond block timestamp that smart contracts can read, which helps apps that need sub-second timing.

Block builders and validators have some work to do as well. Builders have to account for the reserved gas when they put a block together, and validators will reject any block that ignores the rule.

Jenner Hard Fork Mainnet Date: When Does It Go Live?

Anyone following BNB Chain News should know that the BNB Chain testnet update is already live, but the Jenner hard fork mainnet date is not final yet.
The notice points to late November 2026, with the exact time still to be announced. Treat the BNB Chain upgrade November 2026 window as a target, because this BNB Chain hard fork 2026 timetable may shift.

Analysts following Crypto news may read this BNB Chain News item as an infrastructure change, not a market catalyst.
So, is BNB Chain getting faster payments? Not really. Payment Lane is a capacity rule, not a speed upgrade. It keeps a slice of every aside, which could make BNB payments and BNB crypto payments easier to count on when the network gets crowded. Fees still apply, and no single transaction is promised a spot.

A lot will come down to which stablecoins governance puts on the list. Whether any of this touches the price is far from clear. Anyone tracking the BNB Chain latest news should watch for the mainnet announcement, and for any BNB news about the list.
