Securitize, a prominent digital asset securities firm, announced plans to expand its blockchain infrastructure for asset managers seeking to bring traditional financial products on-chain. The development was revealed at the Meridian 2026 conference, hosted by the Stellar Development Foundation in Lisbon, Portugal.

Stellar selected for major tokenization initiative

Securitize currently manages approximately $4 billion in traditional assets with strong tokenization potential. The company, known for providing tokenization infrastructure for leading financial institutions such as BlackRock, Apollo, and Hamilton Lane, has identified Stellar’s blockchain as the next platform for its expansion.

Stellar, developed by the Stellar Development Foundation, offers a specialized blockchain designed to facilitate digital asset issuance and transfer. Securitize aims to use Stellar’s infrastructure and its proprietary Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) to enable asset managers to tokenize a wider range of traditional financial products.

Asset issuers will be able to mint tokens representing equity, while Securitize’s subsidiaries are set to handle brokerage, transfer agency, and investment advisory services in line with US regulatory standards.

Carlos Domingo, Securitize’s Co-Founder and CEO, commented on the strategic move:

The Stellar network has built the fourth-largest ecosystem for tokenized real-world assets, which speaks to the strength of its network and the growing institutional demand for tokenization.

Stellar’s integration marks another significant milestone as institutions increasingly seek blockchain-based models for asset management.

XLM price action and derivatives outlook

The native token of the Stellar network, XLM, is currently trading above several key moving averages. The nearest support level for XLM appears at the daily swing low of $0.1615. A decline below this level could signal further downward movement.

Technical analysis suggests resistance near the $0.20 mark, corresponding to the upper boundary of the Bollinger Band. If the price rises above this threshold, XLM could target confluent resistance at $0.235.

Meanwhile, derivatives market data from CoinGlass indicated a long-to-short ratio of 1.16, suggesting that leveraged traders remain optimistic about an XLM rebound. Short-sellers have accounted for a larger share of liquidations in recent sessions.

Institutional demand for tokenization grows

The move toward expanding tokenization on Stellar highlights rising institutional demand for blockchain-based solutions. By combining regulated brokerage and compliance functions with scalable public blockchain infrastructure, Securitize aims to streamline the process of issuing tokenized stocks and other assets.

The Meridian 2026 conference served as a pivotal moment for the Stellar ecosystem, emphasizing partnerships between blockchain platforms and traditional finance leaders to advance asset digitization.
