Arkham Intelligence has identified cryptocurrency wallets reportedly linked to Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, that hold approximately $51.25 million worth of PEPE, representing 2.82% of the meme coin’s total supply. If verified, this would position Sun as the largest known individual holder of PEPE.

Large Exchange Transfers to Justin Sun-Labeled Wallets

Arkham Intelligence reported two significant PEPE transfers to wallets attributed to Sun. On October 17 and October 26, these wallets received PEPE from the exchange Poloniex, with the transactions amounting to $28.44 million and $20.32 million, respectively. Together, the transfers totaled $48.76 million, further increasing the concentration of PEPE within these addresses.

Arkham’s dashboard labels wallets based on its attribution methodology but clarifies that such attributions do not serve as definitive proof that Sun directly controls the assets.

Some of the PEPE tokens have previously moved between major exchanges, including Binance, HTX, and Poloniex. Transfers from exchanges to labeled wallets may reflect internal movements, custody changes, or account restructuring instead of direct token purchases.

Rising Whale Holdings Highlight Market Risks

The estimated $51.25 million PEPE position sits well above most individual holdings for speculative cryptocurrencies and has attracted attention due to the potential impact large token movements can have on price and trader sentiment.

Should the wallet attributions prove accurate, the addresses would command significant influence over PEPE’s market dynamics. However, wallet data alone does not confirm an intention to sell, accumulate further, or utilize the tokens in another manner.

Wallets attributed to Sun have also seen about $77 million in stablecoin transfers to Poloniex between October 15 and October 25, according to Arkham. While these flows may indicate capital moving through exchange-linked accounts, they do not on their own establish that the stablecoins were used to purchase additional PEPE.

Transaction timing and wallet analysis offer context for market observers, but analysts note they cannot serve as direct evidence of trading intent.

PEPE Market Context and Impact of Whale Activity

PEPE has a market capitalization of about $1.8 billion, with daily trading volumes in the hundreds of millions, as reported by CoinGecko. Against this backdrop, the $51.25 million holding is significant but comprises only a small fraction of circulating supply, making any potential market movement from these wallets relatively small in proportional terms.

CoinGecko tracked a positive seven-day performance for PEPE despite these transfers, indicating that recent wallet activity does not automatically translate into negative price action. For sustained market impact, analysts say subsequent exchange inflows, liquidity changes, and buyer/seller reactions must be monitored alongside detected whale movements.

Interpretations of large wallet holdings should not replace broader market analysis, as wallet size alone does not determine price direction. Ongoing monitoring is required to assess true trading impact.

Uncertainties Remain Over True Ownership

The primary question is whether these wallets represent Sun’s direct personal holdings, assets managed for others, or addresses associated with broader organizational activities. Arkham’s entity labels serve as a tool for blockchain transparency but fall short of providing independently verified beneficial ownership.

Additional large-scale transfers could help clarify whether PEPE remains in private custody or is being moved to exchanges with potential intent to sell. Conversely, continued on-chain accumulation would change the outlook. As of now, these holdings highlight the growing market influence of major whale wallets in the volatile meme coin environment.
