The crypto news took a sad turn on October 27, 2026, when Roam Network announced plans to wind down both the company and the project. The Roam Network shutdown is expected to happen in the coming weeks.
The notice came from the official @roam_network account on X. The team described it as a difficult decision made after careful consideration.

The post thanks supporters and community contributors for their time and belief in the project. The update gives no closing date. It also says nothing about user data or the points people have collected.
The tone is brief and direct. It confirms the decision, gives one reason, and closes with thanks. No follow-up steps are listed.

Why the Team Blames Current Market Conditions

According to the team, current market conditions make it no longer possible to run the project as planned. That is the only explanation given.
The post shares no numbers on funding, runway, or costs. The exact trigger behind the decision is therefore still unclear.
The team gave no specifics, so this article does not link the decision to any particular price move or event. Further detail, if any, should come from the official account.
This news update also has limited outside confirmation. At the time of writing, no independent crypto media outlet or press release had added details, so the Roam Network shutdown rests on the official X statement alone.

What Roam Network Built: The Waze for Robots Idea

Roam Networks AG, based in Zug, Switzerland, described its product as a navigation layer for the physical AI era in its project docs. Phones carried by users collected mobile network data in the background as they moved around.
The data covered:

Signal quality

Latency

Handovers between cell towers

Dead zones

The goal was a live Digital Terrain Map of connectivity. Telecom operators could use it to tune networks, while autonomous systems and robots could use it to find reliable coverage. The team pitched it as Waze for Robots.
Growth was organic, with limited token incentives early on. The project claims tens of thousands of active contributors and billions of measurements across many countries, though these figures were not independently verified. A token, listed as $XRO or ROAM, was planned alongside a future token generation event.

Roam Network Shutdown Signs: Domain Listed for Sale

The official roam.network domain is currently listed for sale on GoDaddy. That fits with a wind-down, but it is only a supporting sign, since the team has not commented on it.
Swiss commercial register data still lists Roam Networks AG as active. Its last major updates came in 2024 and covered management and address. No dissolution filing is public yet, which is normal this soon after the post.
Taken together, the signals behind the Roam Network shutdown point the same way. The official post and the domain listing agree, while the registry shows the legal process has not visibly started.

What Contributors Can Expect Next: Crypto News Update

Community reaction has been mostly disappointment. Several contributors say they collected data and points for years while waiting for a token launch or rewards. The same announcement text is circulating on X and on some exchange community boards.
The case also shows a known risk in DePIN projects. Contributors supply data or device time before a token exists, so rewards stay uncertain until launch.
Key questions remain open:

Whether points will convert to tokens or any compensation

What happens to the data users collected

The exact date the wind-down completes

Whether a formal dissolution filing follows

If you contributed data, check the official account for news on points and rewards. Ignore DMs or links offering refunds or reward claims. Only the team’s own posts count.
The Roam Network shutdown is still unfolding, and the team has yet to say what happens to points or data. We will update this story once it does.
