Shiba Inu is turning green today while a lot of the wider crypto space stays shaky. Traders keep asking one thing, why is SHIB price up today when token burns just crashed by over 99%? The real answer has nothing to do with burns. It's a fake or wrong airdrop story spreading fast on X, and it's pulling the entire ecosystem up with it.
Here is every detail in this Shiba Inu news today update, taken straight from the data.
Key Takeaways

SHIB trades at $0.000004833 today, up 0.9%, with a $2.852B market cap and $56.786M in 24-hour trading volume, as per CoinGecko data.

A misleading Shiba Inu airdrop story is spreading on X, pointing to two separate fake contract addresses on Base and BNB Chain.

Shibburn data shows daily burns dropped by 99.94%, yet SHIB, BONE, and LEASH are all still up, so the rally is not burn-driven.

That's a solid move for a token this size, especially with so much uncertainty around right now. But price alone does not tell the full story, the real push is coming from somewhere else entirely.

SHIB Ecosystem Tokens BONE And LEASH Also Turn Green

SHIB is not rallying alone today. Doge Killer (LEASH) is trading at $0.000000000001874, up 3.9% today, with a $1.506M market cap and $2,855.52 in 24-hour volume.
Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) is up 1.7%, now priced at $0.05279, with a $13.166M market cap and $3.021M in 24-hour trading volume.
When a full ecosystem moves together like this, it usually points to something outside normal trading pulling attention, and today that something is an airdrop story.

Shibburn Data Shows Burn Activity Drops 99.94%

Here is the part that surprises most people. As per Shibburn data, burn activity dropped by over 99.94% in a single day, with only 549,014 tokens burned. For context, total SHIB burned so far stands at 410,845,050,035,148 tokens, worth $7,358,064,081, across 21,922 burn transactions.

So burns clearly are not behind today's SHIB price move. Something else is driving it, and it's not something the Shib community wants to repeat.

What Is The Shiba Inu Airdrop News?

The real story behind SHIB price up today is an airdrop rumor, and it's misleading. A post from an account called Diaz Signals on X tells people to explore Shiba Inu on Base, listing contract address 0xFCa95aeb5bF44aE355806A5ad14659c940dC6BF7.

Another post, from an account called Kingofsol, points to Shiba Inu on BNB Chain, with a different contract address, 0x2859e4544C4bB03966803b044A93563Bd2D0DD4D.

However, we can’t say it a fully fake news as both posts link back to a website called schismaticshiba.com, tied to a token named "SHIBA on Base." This token has no connection to the original Shiba Inu memecoin or its real community.

What Next For Shiba Inu? Rakuten Wallet Event In Japan

So, what next for Shiba Inu? One real event is actually worth watching. Rakuten Wallet, a Japanese crypto exchange, posted on X that it will run a coin giveaway at an investment seminar in Japan this November.
The event falls on November 3, a public holiday in Japan, and it's being seen as a meaningful moment for the Shib community heading into the rest of the year.
Expert Opinion: Market watchers note that Shiba Inu news today lines up more with social media attention than on-chain fundamentals, since the burn rate actually fell sharply during the same window. Analysts tracking the Shib ecosystem suggest fake airdrop stories tend to create short bursts of trading volume without changing long-term token structure, and they continue to flag unverified contract addresses as one of the biggest risks facing retail holders in this market today.

Conclusion

Shiba Inu news today shows a market moving on buzz, not burns. SHIB, BONE, and LEASH are all up, but the real driver is a fake airdrop story tied to two bogus contract addresses. Burn activity actually dropped 99.94%. Stay alert, verify addresses, and watch the real Rakuten Wallet event this November.
