<li>The latest update says the first daily epoch minted 0 new $OSMO, down from 91,324 a day, and that staking rewards now come from protocol revenue.</li>
<li>Zero inflation does not guarantee higher yields or a higher $OSMO price, and the dashboard shows the vote, not the effect.</li>

The @osmosis latest update opens with "Flipped the switch." It says $OSMO inflation is off, and that the day's epoch came and went with 0 new $OSMO minted, down from 91,324 a day. The post adds that Prop 1053 passed with 91.1% yes.<img alt="OSMO inflation is off" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/MpnsiEj1cLpNxAKv3TZOUCv5y6jegTAgWSyqJi7i.jpg" width="300" height="196" title="OSMO inflation is off">

From here, it says staking rewards come from protocol revenue, and every $OSMO burned cuts supply.

The Mintscan page lists proposal #1053, "End OSMO Inflationary Emissions.<img alt="End OSMO Inflationary Emissions" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/cSnvNTqfnmwaRSloSrdSABTrDcWBRaunJs25jABJ.jpg" width="300" height="377" title="End OSMO Inflationary Emissions">

The result reads PASSED. Voting ran from October 20, 2026, 23:06:35, to October 25, 2026, 23:06:35, as shown on the page, a window of five days (derived). The page does not state the time zone.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-family-verdana-geneva-span-style-font-size-16px-how-did-the-vote-split-span-span-span">How Did the Vote Split?</h2>
YES took 91.07%, or 95,127,295 $OSMO. ABSTAIN took 8.93%, or 9,328,358 $OSMO. NO drew 2,340 OSMO, and VETO drew 1,151 OSMO, both shown as 0.00%.
Together the four options total about 104.46 million $OSMO (derived). The YES share is measured against all four options, including abstain.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-family-verdana-geneva-span-style-font-size-16px-was-turnout-above-quorum-span-span-span">Was Turnout Above Quorum?</h2>
Turnout was 65.52% against a quorum of 30.00%, so the vote cleared the quorum by 35.52 percentage points (derived).
Dividing the votes cast by 65.52% suggests a voting base near 159 million $OSMO (derived). The page does not state that base.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-family-verdana-geneva-span-style-font-size-16px-what-else-does-the-proposal-change-span-span-span">What Else Does the Proposal Change?</h2>
The change ends inflationary emissions and moves staking rewards to protocol revenue.
It stops inflation-funded community pool emissions and pauses the daily developer vesting release that runs through the mint mechanism.
About 51.9 million OSMO remains in the developer vesting account, and any future release needs a separate governance decision.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-family-verdana-geneva-span-style-font-size-16px-what-does-the-dashboard-not-show-span-span-span">What Does the Dashboard Not Show?</h2>
For<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-news-english" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">crypto news</a> purposes, the dashboard shows a vote, not an outcome. It carries no minting data, burn figures, protocol revenue, or staking reward rate.
Zero inflation does not guarantee higher yields, and it does not guarantee a higher OSMO price.
Staking returns now depend on actual protocol revenue and activity, so the effect on stakers is not measurable from this page.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-family-verdana-geneva-span-style-font-size-16px-what-should-readers-watch-next-span-span-span">What Should Readers Watch Next?</h2>
Four items will show the real effect: governance updates, protocol revenue, burn activity, and the staking rewards actually paid.
In the<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">latest crypto news</a> on $OSMO, a passed vote is the start of that record, not the end.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-family-verdana-geneva-span-style-font-size-16px-conclusion-span-span-span">Conclusion</h2>
Osmosis News today is a passed vote with a 91.07% YES share and a first epoch of zero issuance. Rewards are meant to come from revenue. Whether that supports stakers and supply over time depends on data that later epochs will show.
