Rocket Lab Completes 98th Electron Launch for HawkEye 360

Rocket Lab launched its Electron rocket from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand on October 23, 2026. The mission, named We’re Not Hawking Around, lifted off at 8:11 p.m. New Zealand daylight time. The rocket carried three HawkEye 360 satellites toward a planned low Earth orbit at an altitude of 520 kilometers.

The launch marked Electron’s 98th flight and Rocket Lab’s 19th successful mission of 2026. Additionally, the company moved closer to completing 100 Electron launches since the rocket entered commercial service. This milestone highlights Rocket Lab’s continued activity in the dedicated small satellite launch market.

Rocket Lab also completed its third dedicated Electron mission for HawkEye 360 through the latest launch. The partnership supports HawkEye 360’s efforts to expand its satellite network and strengthen global radio frequency monitoring. Furthermore, repeated missions demonstrate Rocket Lab’s ability to support customers with ongoing satellite deployment requirements.

HawkEye 360 Expands Satellite Network for Global Monitoring

HawkEye 360 operates satellites that collect and analyze radio frequency signals from locations across the world. Its satellites work in groups of three to identify signals and determine their sources. The latest deployment adds another group of spacecraft to support the company’s intelligence and monitoring services.

The satellite network supports maritime tracking, communications mapping, radar monitoring, and detection of navigation signal interference. Its technology helps identify Global Navigation Satellite System jamming that can disrupt positioning services. These capabilities support commercial operations, maritime security, and defense-related monitoring activities.

Rocket Lab provides dedicated launch services that allow satellite operators to select specific deployment schedules and orbital destinations. Unlike larger shared missions, dedicated launches give customers greater control over their satellite deployment plans. Consequently, HawkEye 360 can coordinate its constellation expansion with its operational requirements and planned coverage areas.
