LayerZero has set November 30 as the launch date for its Zero mainnet and ATLAS trading infrastructure. The company said Open ATLAS will go live with more than a dozen trading venues at launch.
The date follows an announcement in August that moved the launch to later in the year. The plan brings order matching, clearing, and settlement together on one trading platform.

<h2 id="how-atlas-will-work-for-trading-venues">How ATLAS Will Work for Trading Venues</h2>
Official documents describe ATLAS as a “headless exchange.” It does not offer a trading app for consumers. Instead, third-party venues handle user access, distribution, and trading interfaces.
The system splits trading into three roles. Venues bring in users, market creators set up markets, and market makers provide liquidity.
Supported assets include spot assets, perpetuals, equities, commodities, bonds, and prediction markets.
Open ATLAS is built for crypto use cases and for developers who want to build financial products. They can connect to existing markets or launch new ones. LayerZero said this removes the need to build a full trading backend.
An institutional version will run on the same trading engine and let institutions set market rules. However, the November release starts with Open ATLAS.
<h2 id="how-zro-fees-and-buybacks-will-be-split">How ZRO Fees and Buybacks Will Be Split</h2>
The token model ties ZRO to security, gas payments, and trading fee rebates. Venues can earn larger rebates by staking ZRO, through trading volume, or both.
Open ATLAS charges one trading fee. Venues receive rebates of 20% to 65% of that fee.
Of the amount left after the rebate, 25% goes to market makers. The other 75% is used to buy back and burn ZRO tokens.
For example, if a fee is $100 and the venue rebate is 20%, $80 remains. Of that, $20 goes to the market maker and $60 is used to buy ZRO.
LayerZero already runs a ZRO buyback program funded by Stargate revenue. According to a June token update, those purchases have taken place since April 2026.
The Zero network uses zero-knowledge proofs to separate transaction execution from verification. Block producers carry out the calculations, while validators check the proofs.
The network divides processing into separate environments called zones. ATLAS will run in its own zone, apart from payments and other uses.
LayerZero’s technical roadmap estimates each zone could support two million transactions per second. That figure is theoretical and has not been reached yet.
ATLAS documentation estimates a starting capacity of about 200,000 transactions per second. It also targets latency of under one millisecond in a public deployment.
Separately, Anchorage Digital recently chose LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard. The standard will help bank-issued stablecoins move across different chains.
Anchorage said Tether’s USAT will be the first stablecoin issued on its platform with this feature. Its roadmap covers transfers among Ethereum, compatible chains, and Solana.
The bank partnership is separate from the ATLAS launch, which remains scheduled for November 30.
