Near Protocol News today centers on a new product rollout. The platform has launched NEAR Business, a confidential multisig treasury built for crypto-native teams. Every move needs approval from the team’s own signers, according toNEAR’s official X post.

Following this crypto news today, $NEAR price surged over 4% while most large tokens stayed flat. From this move, it is a clear sign that the network is chasing paying business users, not only retail traffic.

Near Protocol News: How the Business Launch Delivers Private Payroll

NEAR Business gives teams one dashboard for payments, bulk payroll, swaps and capital allocation across more than 35 chains. Each action needs approval from the team’s own signers. Roles and thresholds can mirror the way an organization already makes decisions, per theofficial product page (business.near.com).

For, why does it matter? The product targets a privacy gap. Any treasury on a public chain exposes balances, salaries and counterparties to anyone with a block explorer.
NEAR-Business settles payments through confidential receipts instead, so the market cannot see who was paid, how much, or when. Membership, roles and votes stay verifiable on-chain. Exports in CSV, Excel or JSON hand auditors the full record.
NEAR Intents does the heavy lifting underneath. Signers approve a request, the Treasury Contract triggers an MPC signature, and Confidential Intents settles it while solvers compete to fill each swap.
NEAR-Business holds no key or key share, so custody stays with the team. Access is invite-only for now, based on the official post by the team.

NEAR Price Today Reacts to the Treasury Launch With a 4.32% Rally
The $NEAR token price recovered after sliding into the mid-$4.60s overnight. Key figures from CoinMarketCap as of October 21:

Market cap:$6.57B, ranked #16

24-hour volume: $1.3B, up 55.05%

Circulating supply:about 1.3B NEAR, with no maximum supply

Holders: 16.07K

NEAR ETF inflows and solid third-quarter ecosystem metrics added support. A report by Co-founder, Illia, cites more than $34B in all-time Intents volume and over $150M in Confidential Intents TVL, with 200+ assets live.
That maturity explains the timing of this Near Protocol business-based push. It also shapes the Near Protocol price story for the weeks ahead.

Market Comparison: Near vs Trezu App and Other Treasury Rivals

This Near crypto update also covers what comes next. Theofficial roadmap lists these milestones:

Q4 2026: external contract calls, an MPC network of 21 operators, a networking overhaul, post-quantum accounts and TEE enforcement.

Q1 2027: Near SPICE V1 mainnet and heterogeneous TEEs, with a target of blocks near 200 ms.

Q2 2027: single-block cross-shard transactions.

No product-level plans for NEAR Business beyond the invite-only stage have been shared yet.

Near Protocol News over the next two quarters will test whether private treasuries can win paying teams. Wider access, Near SPICE V1 mainnet and the Near 2027 target of faster blocks will show if Intents volume can turn into lasting business demand.
