Stellar has about 10.92 million accounts, about 80,000 of which are still to reach 11 million.

Around 2.13 million payments were processed in 24 hours, averaging nearly 88,750 hourly transactions across the network.

Account growth and payment counts measure different aspects of usage; neither figure alone establishes future token demand or price direction.

XLM's network activity is drawing attention as Stellar approaches 11 million accounts, with reported daily payments offering another measure of its growing use.

Stellar's Account Base Approaches a New Milestone

Scopuly's post draws attention to Stellar's reported 10.92 million accounts and daily payment count. The network requires about 80,000 more accounts to hit a total of 11 million. That gap gives the milestone a clear numerical measure.

However, growth doesn't always translate into growth in active users. Some accounts may be active and others inactive for extended periods. Active-account figures would help distinguish registration growth from regular network participation.

The reported payment count offers a separate measure of activity. Stellar processed approximately 2.13 million payments during the 24-hour period cited by Scopuly. This amounts to around 88,750 payments per hour when averaged across the day.

Daily Payments Offer a Measure of Network Use

This means that you are paying about 1479 times per minute each day. If distributed over 24 hours, it's about 25 payments per second. The actual activity will fluctuate throughout the day when users and applications submit the transactions.

Stellar's infrastructure facilitates the transfer of value among participants and financial applications. Payment activity can, therefore, be an indicator of usage of the network. However, there are no details in the figures provided of what assets were transferred or why each payment was made.

A transaction count can't determine the financial value that is carried on the network. Very little settlement may result in a higher number of small transfers. More useful information: transaction values, payment type, repeat user statistics.

The distinction matters when comparing activity across different reporting periods. Consistent growth in daily payments would offer stronger evidence of rising usage than one isolated reading. A sustained record could also help observers assess whether network participation is expanding.

XLM Price and Network Activity Tell Different Stories

At the time of writing, XLM traded near $0.178, according to Binance's price page. This market quotation is intended to give context, but price movements should not be explained by the account and payment data.

These are different things and are measured in different ways. Payment growth could be due to increased usage of the infrastructure, but that does not mean more demand for XLM as a token. Other factors like investor positioning, market liquidity, and overall market conditions can also have an impact on its value.

In the Stellar network, XLM is primarily used for transaction fees and as an account's requirement. Nevertheless, the number of payments does not indicate the volume of XLM acquired or retained due to the payment. But more detailed data would be required to draw any direct conclusions.

The next useful comparison would track account growth alongside daily payments over several weeks. Rising figures across both measures would suggest broader participation, particularly if active users also increased. A falling payment count despite more accounts would present a different picture of network usage.

For now, Scopuly's figures place Stellar close to 11 million accounts, with millions of payments reported daily. The reach metric represents the account milestone, and total transactions represent activity within a given time. If they keep climbing, it will be a better indication of the adoption of Stellar than either number alone.
