Binance will permanently shut down Binance Pool on November 10, 2026, at 07:00 UTC, ending a Bitcoin mining business it ran for more than six years. The October 13 announcement also covers cloud mining, Pool Savings and the Transaction Accelerator. It comes as the exchange fills its product calendar with U.S. stock options, a planned Stocks Account and AI trading tools, and less than a year after Binance laid out further upgrades and larger mining campaigns for 2026.

Four weeks to move: what disappears on November 10

Binance attributed the decision to an ongoing review of its products and gave no financial, regulatory or operational reason. Shares submitted after the cutoff will earn nothing, so miners have to point their machines at another pool before then.

The closure takes down cloud mining, which sold hashrate exposure to users without their own equipment, and Pool Savings, the yield products tied to mining output. The Transaction Accelerator, used to speed up stuck Bitcoin transactions, goes as well, along with the mining API, Stratum connection endpoints and hashrate alerts. Binance asked users to redeem open savings positions and confirm that their accounts can receive outstanding payouts.

A pool Binance was still upgrading for 2026

Binance Pool launched on April 27, 2020, paying miners under the Full Pay-Per-Share (FPPS) model. Under FPPS, the pool pays a fixed amount for each unit of work a miner submits, including an estimate of transaction fees, and carries the risk of how often blocks are actually found. Its advantage was integration, since rewards landed in the same ecosystem where miners could trade them.

In 2025, Binance completed a platform-wide upgrade covering infrastructure, security and reward distribution. It shipped more than 20 updates and ran 10 mining initiatives, eight of them Super Mine campaigns, that paid extra rewards to 590 miners. Its December 17, 2025 recap promised more infrastructure work and larger campaigns this year. That plan lasted about ten months.

On September 1, Binance began offering physically settled options on more than 1,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs through Nest Trading and Alpaca. Physically settled means the buyer receives the actual shares at expiry instead of cash. On September 23, the exchange said Funding Accounts will become Stocks Accounts by January 2027 to handle equity settlement, and on October 5 it presented Binance Intelligence, an AI suite that combines the free Binance AI assistant, the AI Pro strategy tool due in the second half of October, and Agent OS, a developer platform it opened in August. Binance reported that volume in its perpetual futures tied to traditional assets reached about $433.4 billion in August, roughly 15 times January’s $29.5 billion.

None of this proves a direct trade-off. Volume is not revenue, and Binance has not said it is moving resources from mining into equities. The Financial Times reported in early October that EU regulators are questioning Binance’s reliance on the reverse-solicitation exemption, which lets a firm serve clients who approach it on their own, to operate without MiCA authorization. Binance says it complies with the rules, and no source connects that scrutiny, or the separate DOJ review of its settlement, to the pool closure.

Why Binance’s remaining hashrate will move rather than switch off

Pools combine machines so that miners receive regular payouts instead of waiting years to find a block alone. The hashrate, computing power measured in exahashes per second (EH/s), belongs to the machine owners. Once Binance’s endpoints close, they enter another pool address and keep mining, so Bitcoin’s security does not hinge on this decision.

Binance Pool mined 50 of the 4,419 blocks found in the 30 days to October 13, about 1.1%, which points to roughly 11 EH/s at the network’s current pace. Its share over the past 12 months was close to 2.1%, so the pool was already shrinking before the announcement. The wider network kept growing around it: Binance’s own data shows total hashrate rising from 795 EH/s at the start of 2025 to about 1,031 EH/s in December, after a peak of 1,151 EH/s in October. More machines competing for the same block rewards squeeze margins, but that alone does not show the pool had become unprofitable, and Binance has not claimed it had.

Why the exit barely moves the pool rankings

Miners will choose a new home based on fees, payout model and minimum payout thresholds. For a hobby miner, the switch means changing one setting. Companies that built accounting or reporting on Binance’s API have more to rebuild, since their data feeds disappear along with the pool address.

Foundry USA and AntPool already mined about 46% of all blocks over the past 30 days. Even if every Binance miner joined one of them, their combined share would rise by only about one percentage point, so the closure does little to pool concentration. Spot trading, deposits and withdrawals of BTC on Binance are unaffected.

The first evidence of where the hashrate went will appear in block data soon after November 10, because pools tag the blocks they mine. Bitcoin’s next difficulty adjustment, which recalibrates every 2,016 blocks or roughly two weeks, will show whether some miners stayed offline during the switch. Until November 24, miners can still export payout histories that many will need for their 2026 tax filings.
