Derive V3 went live following the completion of a platform migration, with the protocol confirming that trading has resumed across its derivatives venue. The launch marks the operational close of the migration window and restores full access for users of the Derive protocol.

Derive V3 Launch Follows the Migration

The Derive team announced the V3 launch via an official post on X, confirming the migration had completed and the new version was live. The announcement positioned V3 as the direct successor state following the migration process, not a separate parallel deployment. For related coverage, see XRP Whale-Retail Spread Falls to 46.7% in Eight Days.

No specific migration timeline or block-height cutoff was disclosed in the announcement. The confirmed sequence is: migration completed first, V3 activation followed, trading access restored thereafter. For related coverage, see XRP Ledger Records 858 Million XRP in 24 Hours.

Trading Resumes Alongside the V3 Rollout

Trading resumption is the operationally significant data point for active participants: the migration window, during which trading would have been paused or restricted, has closed. Users can now interact with the protocol under the V3 system. For related coverage, see US Government Moves $470M in BTC to Coinbase Prime.

Traders managing open positions or monitoring liquidation thresholds during a protocol migration face elevated risk from delayed execution and oracle gaps. The confirmed trading resumption closes that exposure window. No figures on open interest carried over from V2 or current V3 funding rates were included in the announcement.

Derivatives venues that integrate unified margining, similar to the unified spot-derivatives portfolio model used by other platforms, typically require migration pauses to settle cross-margin balances before activating new contract logic. Derive has not confirmed whether V3 introduces changes to its margining architecture.

What to Know About the Derive V3 Launch

Migration preceded the launch: V3 activation was contingent on migration completion; the protocol did not run both versions concurrently.

V3 is now live: The protocol confirmed activation via its official X account at @derivexyz.

Trading has resumed: The migration-related trading pause has ended; no downtime extension was signaled.

No token price impact data, TVL figures, or open interest metrics were provided in the launch announcement. Quantitative assessments of V3 market depth will require post-launch on-chain data from the Derive protocol contracts.
