Coinbase has announced a way to trade on crypto's two most recognizable mood swings, turning the viral phrases "It's so over" and "we're so back" into actual prediction-market contracts on its platform.
The exchange announced the feature via its official X account, framing the two phrases as opposing sentiment outcomes users can now take positions on. "It's so over" represents the bearish view that the current cycle or asset is finished; "we're so back" is its bullish counterpart, the conviction that a recovery is underway or imminent. The structure is binary: users choose a side and the contract resolves based on which sentiment proves correct under the terms Coinbase sets. That is a meaningfully different product from buying spot crypto, where profit and loss scale continuously with price. Here, the outcome is fixed at either end.
Why binary sentiment framing appeals to active traders

Prediction markets thrive on exactly this kind of compressed, either-or framing. A trader who believes the market is bottoming does not need price to rally a specific percentage to win — they only need to be on the right side of the binary. That simplicity lowers the barrier to expressing a short-term directional view, which is part of why Coinbase is packaging well-known internet shorthand as the contract labels.
The risk is equally direct: binary outcomes mean a wrong call loses the full position, with no partial recovery if price moves sideways. Coinbase has expanded its product surface considerably in recent months, including tokenized equity experiments via its Base network and institutional stablecoin payment infrastructure with Citi, suggesting the exchange is broadening beyond straightforward spot and derivatives trading.

What to verify before trading

Coinbase has not publicly detailed all contract terms in the available announcement. Traders should confirm eligibility by jurisdiction, the settlement source and methodology, applicable fees, and available liquidity before entering a position. Regulatory treatment of prediction-market contracts varies significantly across regions, and access may be restricted depending on where users are based. The exchange's evolving regulatory posture, including its engagement with the CLARITY Act discussions alongside the SEC and CFTC, adds further context to how these products may be supervised going forward.
Full contract specifications and any applicable restrictions should be confirmed directly through Coinbase before trading.
