Market participants remain cautious about the sustainability of AI-driven semiconductor demand.

<h3 id="google-launches-advanced-ai-platform">Google Launches Advanced AI Platform</h3>
Alphabet’s subsidiary Google rolled out its latest artificial intelligence system, Gemini 4 Argon, on Wednesday. The technology will initially be available to select cybersecurity organizations and government agencies.
Broader distribution to software developers, commercial enterprises, and general users will follow additional security validation. According to Google, Argon outperformed rival systems from OpenAI and Anthropic across 13 of 19 industry-standard evaluations.
In one assessment focused on extended software development assignments, Argon achieved a 77.9% success rate. The pricing structure includes $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Alphabet’s stock climbed 2.2% following the announcement.
Paramount Skydance declined 1.2% during Thursday’s session. Warner Bros. Discovery remained relatively unchanged. Both entertainment corporations confirmed late Wednesday their anticipated $81 billion merger completion date of October 6, subject to routine regulatory approvals.
<h3 id="amazon-and-constellation-energy-forge-nuclear-partnership">Amazon and Constellation Energy Forge Nuclear Partnership</h3>
Constellation Energy advanced 3.7% following the revelation of a strategic partnership with Amazon. The collaboration involves a $3 billion, two-decade commitment to enhance nuclear generation capabilities at a Maryland facility.
This project will contribute approximately 190 megawatts of additional power output. Growing electricity requirements from data infrastructure and artificial intelligence applications have prompted energy providers to establish extended supply arrangements throughout the year.
Vicor experienced a 12% stock surge after upgrading its financial outlook. The company revised its third-quarter sequential expansion forecast to 20%, exceeding the previous 10% projection.
The adjustment stems from royalty income associated with a recently disclosed licensing arrangement. An independent analysis from Seeking Alpha suggested even stronger growth projections exceeding 30%, attributed to royalties from the company’s inaugural non-exclusive license for vertical power delivery systems.
Madison Square Garden Sports registered modest gains. The organization’s board authorized a strategic division separating the New York Rangers from the New York Knicks. This transaction is scheduled to finalize on October 26.
Multiple prominent corporations are scheduled to release quarterly performance data on Thursday. The reporting roster includes Accenture, Acuity, McCormick, and Nike.
In additional developments, Inogen shares climbed 8% after announcing an agreement to divest its domestic oxygen rental operations to Rotech Healthcare. The transaction carries a potential value of $25 million and is projected to conclude in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Inogen simultaneously established a long-term procurement contract with Rotech. The organization expanded its share repurchase program by $15 million, elevating the total authorization to $45 million.
Corteva stock experienced a 64% decline following confirmation of plans to spin off its Crop Protection operations into an independent publicly traded entity called Vylor. Current Corteva stockholders will receive Vylor shares while maintaining their original holdings.
The substantial price reduction represents a technical adjustment related to the distribution rather than fundamental selling pressure. The corporate separation becomes effective October 1.
