The crypto wealth platform says users can now move USDC onto Arc without paying steep third-party bridging costs

SwissBorg has integrated direct USDC deposits on Arc Network, according to reporting from CryptoBriefing and The Cryptonomist. The update lets users send Circle's dollar-pegged stablecoin straight into Arc without relying on a separate bridging service.

Prior to this integration, moving USDC onto Arc typically required a third-party bridge. The Cryptonomist reports that one such bridge, PlaygroundBridge, has charged fees reaching as high as 25% on some transfers. For users moving meaningful sums, that cost structure could erase a large share of the transferred value before it ever reached its destination.

Bridging costs have long been a friction point in crypto infrastructure. Moving assets between blockchains usually involves locking tokens on one chain and minting a wrapped or equivalent version on another. That process can involve multiple fees, slippage, and delays, particularly on networks with thinner liquidity or fewer competing bridge providers. High bridge costs have historically discouraged smaller transfers and added complexity for retail users unfamiliar with cross-chain mechanics.

Arc Network has positioned itself around stablecoin settlement and payments infrastructure. By enabling a native deposit path for USDC, SwissBorg removes a step that previously added both cost and technical risk for its users. Direct deposits also reduce exposure to the operational risks associated with bridge contracts, which have been frequent targets for exploits across the broader industry.

SwissBorg operates as a crypto wealth management platform, offering trading, staking, and portfolio tools to a retail user base concentrated in Europe. Integrations that simplify how users move stablecoins onto specific networks are a recurring theme for platforms competing on cost and usability. USDC, issued by Circle, remains one of the most widely used dollar-pegged stablecoins in decentralized finance and cross-border settlement, making the terms of access to any given network a meaningful factor for platforms and users alike.

The reported fee gap between the new direct route and the PlaygroundBridge alternative is notable given the scale some users transact at. A 25% fee on a bridged transfer would represent a substantial cost relative to typical exchange or network fees seen elsewhere in the stablecoin ecosystem. Neither source detailed the exact fee SwissBorg's new direct deposit route carries, but the framing in both reports centers on the elimination of that bridging expense rather than a like-for-like fee comparison.

The integration reflects a broader pattern of platforms building direct rails to newer networks as those networks mature, rather than depending solely on third-party bridge infrastructure that can carry variable and sometimes opaque costs.

Market Impact

For SwissBorg users holding or transacting in USDC, the change could lower the effective cost of moving funds onto Arc Network, particularly for those who previously relied on higher-fee bridges. Lower transfer friction can also make a network more attractive to platforms and liquidity providers evaluating where to route stablecoin activity.

More broadly, the episode highlights ongoing competition among bridging solutions and native deposit integrations across emerging blockchain networks. As stablecoin volumes grow, the cost and reliability of moving funds between chains remains a differentiator for both platforms and the networks they choose to support.

SwissBorg's direct USDC integration on Arc Network underscores how bridging costs continue to shape platform and user decisions in the stablecoin ecosystem. Further details on comparative fee structures may emerge as the integration sees wider use.
