Hunter Biden has revealed the full structure behind his upcoming LAPTOP meme coin. He framed the token as an attempt to reclaim one of the most controversial episodes of his public life.
The former president’s son said LAPTOP represents “resilience, redemption, and recovery” after years in which his abandoned laptop was used by political opponents and media outlets to scrutinize his business dealings and personal life.
“They turned laptop into a weapon. I turned it into a token,” Biden wrote on X.
LAPTOP is scheduled to launch Wednesday on Coinbase-incubated Ethereum Layer 2 network Base with a total supply of 1 billion tokens. Its official website has already published the token’s Base contract, although exchange listings were still marked as “coming soon” ahead of launch.LAPTOP Targets TRUMP Memecoin Investors
Twenty percent of LAPTOP’s supply has been reserved for community airdrops. Half will be distributed through the initial claim, with 8% of the total supply going to subscribers of Biden’s “Where’s Hunter?” Substack and 2% targeting wallets that suffered losses on Donald Trump’s TRUMP meme coin. Another 10% is reserved for a future airdrop.
The project’s official tokenomics also reveal that founders, including Biden, will receive 30% of the supply. Those tokens are subject to a six-month lock before vesting over two years.
Another 10% is allocated to liquidity, 5% to the Phoenix Veritas Foundation treasury and 5% directly to charity. The project says 35% of LAPTOP will be unlocked at its token generation event.Political Predictions Could Burn 30% of Supply
Perhaps LAPTOP’s most unusual feature involves another 30% of its supply, which is linked to 30 real-world predictions covering politics, crypto and culture.

If a predicted event occurs, the associated LAPTOP tokens will be permanently burned. If it does not, those tokens will instead be donated to charity. Predictions include whether Trump will be impeached during his term and whether Bitcoin will reach another all-time high.
The prediction-market angle has already gone a step further: Polymarket traders are now betting on LAPTOP itself.
As of Wednesday, a market attracted more than $650,000 in volume, with traders assigning roughly a 72% probability that LAPTOP’s fully diluted valuation will exceed $100 million one day after launch, but only an 11% chance it tops $1 billion.
“You should not expect me or anyone else to make this token more valuable for you,” Biden said. “LAPTOP isn’t just about owning something, it’s about saying something.”
