Dogecoin — DOGE, is approaching a key price level as traders watch a rare momentum signal. DOGE currently trades near $0.081 after falling 27% this year. The level carries added importance because billions of DOGE changed hands there. Meanwhile, a rare two-week MACD bullish cross has appeared. Such signals have historically preceded stronger upward moves. Now, traders are watching whether DOGE can hold support and challenge nearby liquidation zones.

DOGE Holds a Critical $0.081 Cost Basis Zone

DOGE is trading near $0.081, according to the supplied market data. On-chain data gives this level greater importance than usual. Ali Charts’ UTXO Realized Price Distribution shows roughly 30 billion DOGE there. That volume creates a major cost basis zone for holders. The current price also remains far below Dogecoin’s $0.74 all-time high.

That record came during the major meme coin rally in May 2021. DOGE has since endured several sharp corrections and recovery attempts. The latest structure now depends heavily on support around $0.081. Holding above $0.081 would keep the current recovery structure intact. Buyers could then attempt to push DOGE toward higher resistance.

A sustained move above resistance would strengthen the broader bullish setup. However, losing $0.081 could quickly change market sentiment. Sellers could then target the $0.077 to $0.079 region. That zone also contains significant long liquidation positions. Liquidation data adds another layer to the current setup. Binance’s DOGE/USD liquidation map shows heavy leveraged positioning.

Rare MACD Cross Gives DOGE Bulls Another Reason for Optimism

Trader Tardigrade highlighted another important development on X. DOGE’s two-week MACD recently printed a bullish cross. The signal stands out because two-week MACD crosses rarely appear. According to the analyst, previous crosses preceded sustained upward momentum. That history makes the latest signal especially interesting for DOGE traders. However, technical indicators never guarantee future price action.

DOGE still needs to defend support before bulls can confirm stronger momentum. Holding $0.081 would provide a stronger foundation for another advance. Buyers would then need to challenge the $0.085 to $0.089 liquidation zone. A successful breakout could expose $0.090 as the next psychological target. Strong volume would make such a move more convincing. Traders may also watch whether momentum expands after the MACD signal.

Meanwhile, the $0.177 supply concentration remains a longer-term reference. Reaching that level would require a substantial recovery from current prices. For now, traders remain focused on the nearby support and liquidation zones. DOGE therefore faces a clear technical decision near $0.081. Holding support could strengthen the bullish recovery case. Losing support could instead send DOGE toward lower liquidity zones.
