British television personality Katie Price has initiated divorce proceedings against her husband Lee Andrews, following the disclosure that his claimed $50 million cryptocurrency fortune comprised just £2.22, or about $3.

Cryptocurrency fortune unmasked

Andrews, 43, had told Price he was in possession of a digital asset portfolio valued at $50 million, offering this figure as evidence of his financial stability. To support his claims, he reportedly provided Price with the recovery phrase for his digital wallet, enabling a direct review of the balance.

Price engaged a financial specialist to examine the wallet on August 31. Upon inspection, the expert determined that the holdings amounted to only £2.22, or around $3, a fraction of the sum Andrews declared.

Price confronted Andrews through WhatsApp, writing, “I have been played and you are not who you say you are. Why have you lied to me?”

Shortly after learning the truth about Andrews’ finances, Price decided to dissolve their marriage. She has since sought legal counsel in London to begin formal divorce proceedings.

Sources familiar with the matter stated that Price now sees the relationship as irreparable, referring to the marriage as “completely over.”

Andrews remains held at Dubai’s Al Awir detention facility, facing three separate civil cases. His legal troubles began with an arrest in May 2026, followed by a subsequent detention in July. He continues to reject all allegations of fraud and financial misconduct.

Price and Andrews reportedly met in January 2026. The relationship developed quickly, with both parties getting matching tattoos within days, then holding an informal wedding ceremony in Dubai just 48 hours after announcing their engagement. The initial ceremony was not legally recognized.

Their marriage was formally legalized at the Judicial Department in Abu Dhabi on February 17, necessitating an official legal process for divorce.

Who is Lee Andrews?

Andrews, originally from Nottinghamshire, has depicted himself as a wealthy entrepreneur with long-term residency in Dubai spanning over two decades. On social media, he has shared photos purporting to show interactions with well-known personalities such as Elon Musk and Kim Kardashian. Multiple reports have found indications that these images may be AI-generated, raising further doubts about the authenticity of his claims.

He has presented himself as the CEO of Aura Group Future Urban Travel 2027 and claimed holdings in companies like SpaceX Hybrid Fitness. Independent verification of these business ventures has not yet been established.

Andrews’ legal issues intensified in May 2026 when he disappeared for two weeks. He initially reported this absence was due to an espionage-related arrest but later said it stemmed from a private civil dispute over unpaid debts. His release in June was followed by another arrest in July. He currently faces three civil suits in Dubai.

A review by The Sun showed the crypto wallet Andrews provided never held more than $14,490 in any single 24-hour period, with the total being withdrawn on the day it arrived. No blockchain records or wallet addresses have been published to directly validate these findings.

Price was recently seen in public at Manchester Pride without her wedding ring. She has publicly refused to fund any of Andrews’ legal or bail costs during his detention.
