Binance has launched options trading on U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds settled by physical delivery, extending the exchange's derivatives lineup from crypto-native contracts into listed equity exposure at a moment when centralized venues are racing to bridge TradFi assets and on-chain infrastructure.

The rollout was disclosed through a Binance product announcement, which frames the offering around U.S. stocks and ETFs and specifies physical delivery as the settlement mechanism. The research underlying this article is limited: the primary announcement is confirmed, but detailed contract specifications, eligible tickers, jurisdictional restrictions, and fee schedules were not independently verified at press time.
What Binance Confirmed About the Options Launch

According to the announcement, the product covers options on U.S. equities and ETFs, distinguishing it from the exchange's existing crypto options and from cash-margined equity products elsewhere in the market. The U.S. equity focus signals crossover demand beyond crypto-native assets, positioning the launch alongside Binance's earlier move to list bStocks tokenized securities trading pairs.
What remains unclear is who can access the product by jurisdiction, which specific stocks and ETFs are eligible, and how contract sizing and expiries are structured. Those details are not resolvable from the confirmed evidence and should be treated as pending until Binance publishes contract specifications.

Why Physical Delivery Is the Key Differentiator

Physical delivery means that when an option is exercised, the underlying asset itself changes hands rather than a cash amount equal to the option's value. That contrasts with cash settlement, where the position closes purely as a payment reflecting the difference between the strike and the settlement price.

For traders, the distinction shapes settlement expectations and strategy: physically delivered options require infrastructure to hold or transfer the underlying equity exposure at exercise, which affects how positions are managed into expiry. The design places Binance's product closer to the mechanics of traditional listed equity options than to the cash-settled derivatives common across crypto venues.

Who the Launch Targets and the Competitive Frame

Options on U.S. stocks and ETFs typically serve hedging, income, and directional trading use cases, appealing to multi-asset traders rather than crypto-only participants. The launch deepens Binance's narrative as a venue spanning both digital assets and equity exposure, a direction other exchanges have pursued through equity-linked perpetuals such as Bybit's SMH, XBI and XLE U.S. stock perpetual contracts and its contracts on UNH, GE, JPM and other names.

A U.S. equity options product also raises unresolved questions around market structure, oversight, and how physical delivery interacts with compliance expectations, given that these are regulated securities rather than tokens. The competitive comparison extends to tokenized-asset infrastructure more broadly, including projects like Ondo's tokenized stock collateral feature, though the regulatory posture governing Binance's specific offering is not detailed in the confirmed materials.

What to Watch Next

The concrete triggers for readers are Binance's forthcoming contract specifications, the list of eligible U.S. stocks and ETFs, and any jurisdictional eligibility rules, none of which are settled by the current announcement. Independent context on the scale of Binance's U.S. equities push has been examined in CoinDesk Research's breakdown of the equities launch, but the specifics of this options product remain to be published by the exchange.
