OpenPayd has gone live on the Circle Payments Network, giving businesses across Southeast Asia and beyond a route to near-instant cross-border transactions settled with regulated stablecoins in the background. The go-live, announced on August 25, 2026, links a payments infrastructure provider with Circle's global settlement network for fiat corridors that previously took days.

OpenPayd Launches on Circle Payments Network

OpenPayd confirmed it is now live on the Circle Payments Network to enable near-instant global fiat payments for businesses, according to its announcement. Going live means the integration is in production, not a pilot or roadmap plan, so eligible clients can move money through it today.

What happened: OpenPayd is live on the Circle Payments Network for near-instant business fiat payments.

The angle: Cross-border corridors including euros to Brazilian reais and pounds to Mexican pesos now settle in near real time.

Why it matters: Clients tap stablecoin settlement rails without building or running blockchain infrastructure themselves.

The company said clients can send and receive fiat currencies while stablecoin infrastructure runs in the background, removing the need to build or manage blockchain rails directly. Irfan Ganchi described the setup as near-instant fiat settlement across global corridors using stablecoin infrastructure behind the scenes. For related coverage, see Vietnam Plans Regulated Crypto Market With Tokenized Assets.

OpenPayd was not a newcomer to the network. Circle's April 21, 2025 pressroom announcement named OpenPayd as one of the initial design partners for the Circle Payments Network, so this launch converts that design work into a running service.
What the Cross-Border Transactions Angle Means

The integration targets a concrete problem: moving fiat across borders quickly. OpenPayd cited live examples of euros to Brazilian reais and British pounds to Mexican pesos that can now settle near-instantly, corridors where traditional correspondent banking often adds delays and cost.

For Southeast Asian businesses handling remittances, e-commerce settlement, or supplier payments, the mechanics matter. Circle describes its network as a global system for banks, payment service providers, virtual asset service providers, digital wallets, and enterprises that settles using regulated stablecoins such as USDC and EURC, per Circle's product page.

OpenPayd brings scale to that access. The company says it serves more than 1,200 businesses and processes more than $280 billion in annual volume, giving operating context for the launch.

The launch fits a wider regional pattern of stablecoin rails moving into payments plumbing, echoing how dLocal joined Fireblocks to enhance stablecoin payments for emerging-market corridors. The confirmed facts here are limited to the go-live and the named corridors; broader performance figures beyond "near-instant" are not disclosed.

Why This Launch Matters for the Digital Payments Market

The rail underneath these transactions is a regulated stablecoin. USDC carried a market cap of roughly $73.96 billion on August 30, 2026, a balance-sheet base that supports settlement confidence for institutions using the network.

Access is gated, not open. Circle says the network is available on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and EVM-compatible blockchains, and is limited to eligible financial institutions that meet licensing, AML and CFT, sanctions, and Travel Rule requirements. That compliance framing matters for regional regulators in Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines weighing stablecoin settlement.

Michael Treacy of OpenPayd said clients can now access the speed and efficiency of stablecoin infrastructure, framing the value as operational rather than speculative. Wider market sentiment sat at 69, or Greed, on August 30, 2026, a backdrop of appetite for payments-linked crypto infrastructure.

For ASEAN exchanges and fintechs such as Coins.ph and Tokocrypto, the signal is that stablecoin settlement is being absorbed into mainstream cross-border plumbing, even as skeptics like the BIS chief argue stablecoins lack credibility for large-scale payments. With live corridors now running, the practical test is how quickly the network extends to Southeast Asian currency pairs.
