Coinbase Markets announced on August 22, 2026, that it has added four new tokens — Basecat (BASECAT), DebtReliefBot (DRB), Dolphin (POD), and Grass (GRASS) — to its public asset listing roadmap. The exchange also included Cluster Protocol (CP) in the same update. The news, first shared via the exchange's official Markets account, immediately drew attention across crypto social media and pushed all four tickers into trending lists on data platforms.

It is a public list of assets under active evaluation for trading support, based on legal, security, and technical review. The exchange has been explicit that inclusion is only a step in that process, not confirmation that trading will begin on any set date, and full support for a given asset is never guaranteed. Traders should treat the announcement as a signal of interest rather than a promise.

BASECAT, DRB and POD Are Base Tokens, While GRASS Runs on Solana

The four assets span two ecosystems. BASECAT, DRB, and POD are all built on Base, Coinbase crypto exchange listing's own Ethereum layer-2 network, while GRASS runs on Solana.

Coinbase Listing Announcement: What Are BASECAT, DRB, POD and GRASS?

BASECAT: A community-driven meme coin on Base, built around a cat character wearing a blue hard hat. It has no formal roadmap, staking, or governance system, and its value has largely tracked social attention and exchange listing news rather than any built-in utility.

DRB (DebtReliefBot): An AI-themed token on Base tied to the "agent-to-agent" meme trend, reportedly linked to concepts generated through xAI's Grok chatbot and deployed through automated on-chain tools. It runs on community narrative rather than a traditional product roadmap.

POD (Dolphin): A decentralized AI inference network that lets users share idle GPU capacity to process AI workloads. Revenue from network usage is directed toward buybacks of POD, and holders can stake into vaults for a share of that activity.

GRASS Network: A Solana-based DePIN project that pays users for contributing unused internet bandwidth, which is used to gather public web data for AI training. The network relies on zero-knowledge proofs for verification and has a defined token allocation split between investors, contributors, and community incentive programs.

Coinbase Listing Roadmap: Why Add These Four Altcoins Now?

The selection reflects two themes currently dominating crypto markets: growth on the Base network and rising interest in AI- and data-infrastructure-linked tokens. No specific reason has been given for choosing these four assets, but the mix — a Base meme coin, an AI-narrative token, a DePIN/AI inference project, and an established Solana data network — mirrors where retail and trading attention has concentrated in recent weeks.

The August 24 timeline for BASECAT Coin and DRB depends on market-making support and technical infrastructure being in place, meaning the date could still shift.

How Did the Tokens React to the Roadmap News?

BASECAT has been the standout mover. The token was already up sharply in the days before the roadmap news after gaining exposure through Gate and Coinbase Wallet listings, and it has continued to see elevated trading volume since, though its market capitalization remains modest relative to that volatility and liquidity is thin.
Remaining 3 also saw renewed trading interest following the announcement, with DebtReliefBot and Dolphin showing some of the larger short-term percentage moves among AI-linked tokens tracked by market aggregators. As with any low-cap or recently listed asset, these swings can reverse quickly, and short-term price action should not be read as a signal of long-term direction.

A Warning: Don't Send Tokens Before Official Support

There's a standing warning tied to roadmap announcements: users should not deposit or transfer all 4 tokens to their accounts until official transfer and trading support is confirmed. Sending unsupported assets before that point can result in permanent loss of funds, since the receiving infrastructure may not yet be configured to credit them.

Will BASECAT, DRB, POD and GRASS Get Listed?

As of now, all four tokens sit on the roadmap, not yet fully listed. Trading for BASECAT and DRB is expected to begin August 24, 2026, with POD and GRASS tokens to follow later in the week, but none of this is final until a separate official listing announcement is made.
Investors watching these tokens should track official channels for confirmed transfer support, the exact go-live time for trading, and any changes to the stated schedule before acting.

Conclusion

Coinbase's addition to its asset roadmap signals growing exchange interest in Base and Solana ecosystem tokens, particularly those tied to AI and DePIN narratives.
However, roadmap placement is not a listing guarantee — trading support depends on Coinbase's ongoing compliance, security, and infrastructure review. With BASECAT and DebtReliefBot tentatively expected to launch trading on August 24, 2026, and Dolphin and GRASS to follow, investors should watch for Coinbase's official confirmation before assuming access.
Until then, users should avoid transferring these assets to Coinbase and should rely only on verified announcements from the exchange's official channels.
