Some numbers are hard to forget once you’ve seen them. Kaspa went from fractions of a cent to a peak that represented one of the most dramatic early-stage moves in crypto history, the kind of run that made its earliest holders take notice. Three years later, analysts are looking at another DAG-based project sitting at a similarly early stage and asking a familiar question: could BlockDAG follow a comparable path? One analyst has suggested BlockDAG could approach $1 after its presale phase, although any such target depends heavily on execution, adoption, listings, and broader market conditions. Whether or not that number holds up, the comparison is worth reviewing, because the technology underneath both projects shares important similarities.

Kaspa’s Story, in Brief

Kaspa trades around $0.026 to $0.03 today, well off its 2024 all-time high but showing a recent technical bounce. What makes Kaspa worth referencing at all is its architecture: a BlockDAG structure running GhostDAG consensus, allowing multiple blocks to confirm simultaneously instead of discarding parallel blocks as orphans. That design gives Kaspa sub-second confirmation times and real scalability without sacrificing decentralization.
2026 has brought genuine expansion. The Casplex Layer-2 solution introduced smart contracts, turning Kaspa from a pure payments network into a platform for DeFi, NFTs, and decentralized tools. The KRC-20 token standard sparked a wave of new activity, including fair-launch meme coins like Kaspy and Ghoad.

On the mining side, the network runs kHeavyHash, a PoW algorithm now dominated by specialized ASICs. The Bitmain Antminer KS7 leads at 45 TH/s, with IceRiver’s KS7 offering 30 TH/s for large operations and lighter options like the KS7 Lite serving home miners. Hash rate has grown steadily through 2026 despite the price pullback, a sign that miners are still backing the network long-term.

Why BlockDAG Is Being Compared to Kaspa’s Early Days

The comparison is not accidental. BlockDAG runs its own version of DAG-based architecture, a hybrid combining Bitcoin-style Proof-of-Work security with parallel transaction processing, secured by GhostDAG consensus. That is the same structural family Kaspa proved out years before its historic market run. The difference is timing: Kaspa’s biggest gains came after years of quiet building. BlockDAG is at an earlier point in that curve, currently sitting at Stage 1 of a 25-stage presale priced at $0.002 per coin under the project’s stated terms.
What makes the analyst case for $1 more than pure speculation is what is already running underneath BlockDAG’s presale. The BlockDAG Casino is live with more than 13,000 registered players. The network processes 7,000 transactions per second with roughly 2-second confirmation times and is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, giving developers a familiar environment to build in.

The presale itself runs through 25 stages, ending at $0.05 under the project’s stated roadmap, with an intended launch reference of $0.10 backed by $100 million in planned launch liquidity. Reaching a $1 valuation would require a major move beyond the intended reference price, making it an aggressive call and one that depends heavily on adoption, exchange listings, and market conditions actually cooperating. No analyst projection is a guarantee, and this one should not be treated as one.

The Honest Comparison

Kaspa’s historic run was not inevitable. It took years of consistent development, a growing miner base, and eventually smart contract functionality that expanded what the network could actually do. BlockDAG is following a comparable architecture with a comparable philosophy: PoW security, DAG-based speed, and an expanding product ecosystem including a live Casino, a growing holder base, and infrastructure already handling real throughput before the presale has even finished.

What analysts pointing to $1 are really watching is whether BlockDAG can follow a similar multi-year adoption curve to Kaspa’s, potentially supported by an ecosystem that is being built earlier in the project’s life cycle. That includes the Casino, Exchange plans, developer tooling, and broader infrastructure. It is a clear thesis, but it is not a promise.

Where That Leaves Things

Kaspa proved that DAG-based architecture can support major market attention when paired with long-term development and adoption. Whether BlockDAG repeats that path, let alone reaches $1 after its presale phase, depends on execution, adoption, listings, liquidity, and market conditions nobody can fully predict. What is verifiable right now is the Stage 1 price of $0.002 under the project’s stated terms, a live Casino already generating real activity, and a technical foundation built on the same DAG principles that helped make Kaspa’s story possible in the first place. The rest is still being written.
