A whale just placed a massive bet on Monero, and the crypto community is watching closely to see if the price can catch up to the target.&nbsp;
XMR has been climbing steadily, but it's still a long way from where this trader thinks it's headed.&nbsp;
This <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/price-prediction/monero-price-prediction-august-2026" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Monero Price Prediction</a> looks at whether the current momentum can carry XMR toward that ambitious target, or whether the whale is simply early on a move that hasn't shown up on the chart yet.&nbsp;
Either way, the next few weeks look important for anyone watching this setup.

<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-xmr-whale-long-position-what-the-post-claims-span-span">XMR Whale Long Position: What the Post Claims</h2>
A post from BSCN, citing Lookonchain, reports that a newly created wallet deposited $3.56 million USDC into Hyperliquid before opening a 4x long position on 36,000 XMR worth $14.33 million.&nbsp;<img alt="XMR Whale Long Position: What the Post Claims" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/U3zcnMH7y5rRdHkxFyv46ks4RmiI5TO3ucuwQqSE.png" width="300" title="XMR Whale Long Position: What the Post Claims">
<a href="https://x.com/BSCNews/status/2086741699783795196?s=20" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">According to the report</a>, the position's take-profit orders are placed across a range between $475 and $516, suggesting the trader is betting on a major move higher.
At the time of that post, XMR was trading around $396. It's worth noting a single large position, even a well-funded one, doesn't guarantee price will actually reach those levels, so this is best treated as a bullish signal rather than a forecast.

Pair: XMR/USD · Market: Spot (Crypto) · Timeframe: 1D · Source: TradingView · Timestamp: August 12, 2026, 13:46 UTC+5:30
XMR is trading at $398.60, extending a recovery that's been building since early July.&nbsp;
Price is now testing the lower edge of a shaded resistance zone that sits below the EMA 20 at $369.17 and EMA 50 at $354.70, both of which price has already reclaimed.&nbsp;
RSI (14) reads 65.68, showing strong bullish momentum and edging closer to overbought territory, in line with the sharp move higher over the past few sessions.
Until the price trades above the current support, <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/price-prediction/monero-price-prediction-pepeto-presale-hits-104m-buyers-lock" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">the trend remains bullish</a>.<img alt="Monero Price Prediction Chart" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/SMEtpnfwR99rHej1cRMFDN8aupdjkXZAu3XajAJw.png" width="300" title="Monero Price Prediction Chart">

<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-monero-forecast-bull-case-vs-bear-case-span-span">Monero Forecast: Bull Case vs. Bear Case</h2>
XMR price target&nbsp;Bull Case: If price holds above the EMA 20 and EMA 50 at $369.17 and $354.70, and clears the nearest resistance at $420.58, we could see continued upside toward $447.76 and eventually the whale's lower target zone near $475.49.&nbsp;
Strong RSI momentum supports this scenario if buyers keep stepping in.
XMR price target&nbsp;Bear Case:&nbsp;if price fails at $420.58 and slips back below the first confirmed support at $376.04, the recent rally could stall out well short of the whale's target, with the EMA cluster near $354.70 to $369.17 acting as the next test $334.55 level.
<h2 id="span-style-font-size-16px-xmr-price-target-span-style-color-inherit-font-weight-bolder-can-xmr-reach-span-span-style-color-inherit-font-weight-bolder-475-49-span-span-span-style-color-inherit-font-weight-bolder-span-style-font-size-16px-span-span-style-font-size-16px-span-span">XMR price target:&nbsp;Can XMR Reach $475.49?</h2>
The highest resistance actually marked on this chart is $475.49.
Reaching the whale's full $516 target would require XMR to first clear $420.58 and $447.76, then push beyond $475.49 into territory not yet mapped on this chart, a move that would need sustained buying well beyond the current setup rather than a single leg higher.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-could-invalidate-the-bullish-setup-span-span">What Could Invalidate the Bullish Setup?</h2>
A rejection at $420.58 followed by a close back below the <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/price-prediction/monero-price-prediction-turns-bullish-after-biggest-privacy" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">first confirmed support </a>at $376.04 would put the current recovery in question.&nbsp;
A deeper break below the EMA cluster near $354.70 and the structural support at $334.55 would suggest the whale's long position is running well ahead of actual price action.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-monero-price-prediction-expert-view-span-span">Monero Price Prediction: Expert View</h2>
<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/price-prediction" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">According to CoinGabbar analysts</a>, XMR's sharp move higher and reclaim of both EMAs point to genuine near-term strength, and the RSI at 65.68 confirms buyers are firmly in control for now.&nbsp;
That said, the whale's $475 to $516 target zone sits well above every resistance currently marked on the chart, meaning a lot still needs to go right for that bet to pay off.&nbsp;
The $376.04 to $420.58 range looks like the key near-term battleground: holding it keeps the rally intact, while losing it would suggest the whale is early rather than right.
