Public Grid Expands Access to Energy Savings

Public Grid connects residents with utility programs through multifamily housing leasing. The platform links customers with community solar, demand response, efficiency programs, and utility enrollment. Consequently, residents can access services that lower bills and improve energy use.

The company works with property managers and platforms covering more than 500,000 housing units. Public Grid serves Exelon markets, where thousands of residents use its platform. Meanwhile, utilities gain another channel for customers who may miss available savings programs.

Exelon sees participation as important while electricity demand rises across major markets. Public Grid simplifies enrollment and links residents with programs that reduce monthly energy costs. The model can also expand clean energy access in underserved communities.

Buckstop Builds Value From Existing Infrastructure

Buckstop provides asset valuation, urban mining, and circular resource technology for energy infrastructure. Its platform identifies valuable materials inside equipment and helps recover value from aging assets. Therefore, operators can reuse or recycle more materials instead of discarding equipment.

The company helps organizations assess material content before replacing infrastructure. That process creates recovery options for metals and other resources used across energy systems. It also reduces new extraction needs as electrification raises demand for critical materials.

Resource efficiency matters as utilities expand networks and replace equipment. Buckstop gives operators another option for recovering materials while controlling costs and extending asset value. Exelon’s backing connects that approach with sustainability efforts across its operating regions.

Exelon Foundation Extends $20M Climate Program

The Exelon Foundation runs 2c2i as an early-stage investment program for climate and energy companies. The initiative targets practical technologies with commercial potential and community value. Its focus includes Exelon markets such as Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Atlantic City, and Washington.

The program supports emissions reduction, infrastructure resilience, climate adaptation, and local sustainability projects. Exelon has committed $20 million to climate-focused investment and entrepreneurship through the foundation. Public Grid and Buckstop join the portfolio as 2c2i enters its seventh year.

The foundation continues seeking startups developing clean energy and climate technologies with practical applications. Applications for new investment remain open through September 2026 under the program cycle. The latest additions strengthen Exelon’s focus on affordability, resource efficiency, and reliable infrastructure as demand grows.
