U.S. sanctions Iranian crypto exchanges moved into a new phase in the saved research brief, which identifies a fresh Treasury action covering two more Iranian crypto exchanges. Because the packet does not retain the exchange names, wallet details, or full designation text, the confirmed development here is the new sanctions step itself, not a complete evidentiary record behind it.
The strongest preserved evidence is the brief's primary source, a U.S. Treasury press release listed as sb0598, alongside Reuters-based coverage carried by Yahoo Finance and CoinDesk. Those links establish that the story belongs to the sanctions and crypto-compliance beat, while the incomplete brief does not support adding unsourced geopolitical or market commentary.
The same research file also includes Treasury press release sb0596, which is the clearest support inside the packet for the headline's use of "more" rather than a one-off action. Readers wanting site context on earlier related coverage can compare Coincu's report on U.S. sanctions several Iranian crypto trading platforms and individuals, but that internal piece is background, not proof for the latest designations.

Reuters-linked coverage ties the move to a wider sanctions case

Among the secondary links preserved in the brief, CoinDesk's July 31, 2026 report on a $4 billion Iran sanctions-evasion network and matching Yahoo Finance coverage of a Dubai crypto exchange sanctions case connect the latest action to a broader enforcement narrative already in circulation. Just as important, those reports describe a sanctions case, not a criminal judgment, so the careful distinction here is between designation by U.S. authorities and any later court-tested liability.
For crypto platforms and OTC counterparties, the operational signal in this brief is that the preserved evidence comes from a Treasury release and sanctions reporting, not from price feeds or social-post rumor. That is why enforcement stories like Coincu's coverage of EU sanctions over 100 banks and crypto operators tend to matter first for screening and counterparty review, even when the record contains no usable token-price data.

What the saved brief still does not prove

The saved packet does not preserve the exchange names, wallet addresses, transaction trails, or any sanctions-list excerpt tied to sb0598 or sb0596. That means this draft cannot verify which entities were newly added, how Treasury described their conduct, or whether any counterparties were separately identified in the underlying designation material.
Because those entity-level details are missing, related Coincu coverage such as Nemesis Darknet Marketplace: US Sanctions 49 Crypto Wallets and Iranian Crypto Outflows Spike 700% as Users Move Funds Abroad After Strikes should be read as adjacent context rather than evidence for this specific case. The next document worth watching is the fuller Treasury or OFAC material linked from the current press release record, because that is where the names and formal listing details would be expected to appear first.
