You guys look exhausted. I can see it on the timeline.
You're bidding a dog wearing a beanie on Base. You're aping a misspelled version of a D-list politician on Solana. You're trading a cat holding a Glock that some 14-year-old dev just launched on pump, fun, praying you can scrape a 2x before he rugs the liquidity and goes back to his math homework.
It's maximum PVP out here. The trenches are bleeding. And honestly? It's because the narrative is completely broken. We've manufactured so many forced, soulless mascot coins that the market is choking on them.
But if you've been paying attention to the tape over the last two weeks, you've noticed the rotation. The smart money isn't bidding new animals anymore. They're bidding heritage. They are bidding historical internet provenance.
Trollface ripped. Pepe has been a blue-chip for years. The market is screaming at us that it wants the "Return to Real Memes" meta. We are rotating back to 2010. We are rotating back to the golden era of the internet, before algorithms ruined everything, when a meme was just a raw, unhinged MS Paint drawing that took over the world.
Which brings me to the only chart I'm actively accumulating right now: Me Gusta ($MEGUSTA) on Solana.
Let's talk about why I'm bidding this, why the lore makes it a generational hold, and why fading this rotation is the easiest way to sideline yourself for the next quarter.

The Thesis: Provenance is the Product
Here's the alpha that 90% of CT doesn't understand: In memecoins, the narrative is the product. Utilities are a joke. Nobody cares about your memecoin's staking dashboard or its "upcoming play-to-earn game." They care about the culture, the recognizability, and the meme's ability to act as a social virus.
When you launch a random dog coin, you have to spend millions to educate the market on why it's funny.
When you launch a 2010 Rage Comic face? The marketing was already done 14 years ago.
Me Gusta is internet royalty. It's a core cast member of the internet's foundational lore. When a massive, 142K-follower crypto KOL recently pointed out that Trollface proved the world wants OG memes back, he wasn't just shilling bags. He was identifying a macro psychological shift in how degens are allocating capital. They framed the $MEGUSTA launch as the next chapter in rage-comic nostalgia on Solana, and they were dead right.
We are in the business of tokenizing attention. And nothing holds attention like pure, unadulterated nostalgia. The demographics of crypto traders right now—mostly guys in their mid-20s to late-30s—means 2010-2012 internet culture was their childhood. You aren't just selling them a token; you're selling them a piece of their own history.

The Lore: A History of Questionable Pleasure
If you're going to hold bags, you better know the history of what you're holding.
In March 2010, an illustrator named May Oswald (formerly Matt) drew a bulging-eyed, creepily grinning face on a tablet. The purpose? To create a reaction image for the strange, perverse joy of gross or awkward things.
She posted it to 4chan and Reddit. But here is the absolute gigabrain alpha about May Oswald: she was basically the first meme dev to engineer a viral marketing campaign. In an interview with Know Your Meme years later, she admitted she didn't just post the face and pray. She carefully constructed two or three example comics using different IP addresses to show 4chan exactly how the meme was supposed to be used.
She seeded the narrative. She planted the viral loops. That is literally what top-tier crypto cabals try (and fail) to do today.
By 2011, Me Gusta was Rage Comic royalty. It was the official reaction to enjoying things you probably shouldn't. Shower water in your ears? Me gusta.
By 2012, it achieved total world domination. The face was on Hot Topic t-shirts, coffee mugs, birthday cakes, and thousands of Tumblr blogs. "Me gusta"—Spanish for "I like it"—became the universal caption for questionable pleasure.
Now? It's eternal. It is forever content. The face still appears exactly when something feels wrong and right at the same time.
And if you think about it, is there any better mascot for crypto trading? What is crypto if not the ultimate expression of questionable pleasure? Buying a red 1-minute candle because the fear is palpable? Me gusta. Watching your portfolio swing 40% in a day while you eat cold ramen? Me gusta. Aping a pump, fun contract at 3 AM instead of sleeping? Me gusta.

The Alpha: Why I'm Bidding
Here's the part where I talk straight to you. The reason I'm heavily biased toward the "OG Meme" narrative is because it's an IP play where no one gets sued by the IP lawyers.
When you launch a Disney derivative or a recognizable corporate logo, you are on a ticking clock until a cease and desist nukes your telegram. But 2010 Rage Comics? That is open-source internet heritage. It belongs to the streets.
Furthermore, the pump, fun trenches are exhausted. The meta rotates every 48 hours. But historical nostalgia doesn't rotate. It's a sticky narrative. If the $MEGUSTA community can maintain the floor and survive the initial wave of pump, fun jeets—the guys who sell a 20% pump for a $50 profit to buy a pizza—this thing enters price discovery.
Once it crosses the chasm from "random pump, fun launch" to "established cult coin on Pumpswap," the big money steps in. Whales don't bid animal derivatives anymore. They bid cultural anchors. Trollface hit an absurd valuation simply because it was recognizable. Me Gusta has the exact same mainstream penetration.
