Altcoin Sherpa shared an Ethereum chart comparing two accumulation approaches. The discussion centered on buying during bearish market structures. Each strategy carries different advantages and trade-offs.

The first method focuses on buying within established trading ranges. That approach offers lower entry prices before confirmed reversals. However, positions may remain underwater for extended periods.

The chart showed Ethereum stabilizing after an extended decline. Price entered a prolonged consolidation before rallying sharply higher. Early buyers captured stronger entries by accepting uncertainty.

Sherpa also described waiting for confirmed breakouts above resistance. This method sacrifices lower entries for stronger confirmation. Traders reduce downside risk but often pay higher prices.

Market Participation Remains Broad Across Exchanges

Ethereum as of the time of writing, traded at $1,961.14, gaining 4.57% during the previous 24 hours. The asset also advanced 6.41% over the past week. Those gains arrived alongside steady trading activity.

Ethereum recorded approximately $8.47 billion in daily trading volume. Elevated turnover reflected continued participation across spot and derivatives markets. Traders remained active despite previous market weakness.

Open interest remained distributed across several major exchanges. Gate led with roughly $6.97 billion, while CME ranked second. Bybit and Bitget also maintained sizable leveraged positions.

Futures trading activity remained equally diversified across platforms. OKX recorded the highest futures volume among exchanges. Bybit processed the largest number of futures transactions.

Coinbase Premium Reflects Cautious Institutional Demand

A chart compared Ethereum's price with the Coinbase Premium Index. The indicator measures relative buying pressure on Coinbase. It often tracks activity from U.S.-based investors.

Positive Premium Index readings historically accompanied stronger Ethereum rallies. Those periods aligned with advances toward the $4,000-$5,000 region. Stronger Coinbase demand supported broader bullish momentum.

Current conditions present a different market environment. The Premium Index remains near -0.09, below the neutral threshold. That reading points to relatively weaker Coinbase demand.

Negative premiums have frequently appeared during corrective market phases. Even so, previous cycles also showed recoveries after extended negative readings. Traders continue monitoring whether improving demand accompanies Ethereum's evolving technical structure.
