Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has announced it will remove support for 11 spot trading pairs, including several tied to the Mantle (MNT) ecosystem. The delisting is scheduled to take effect at 8:00 a.m. UTC on July 28.

Which Trading Pairs Are Affected?

The pairs set for removal include ETH/MNT, SOL/MNT, MNT/USDE, BBSOL/MNT, DOGE/MNT, XRP/MNT, ADA/MNT, SUI/MNT, LTC/MNT, VIRTUAL/MNT, and BRETT/USDC. The list covers a broad range of major cryptocurrencies paired primarily with Mantle (MNT), as well as one pair involving the stablecoin USDC.

Why Is Bybit Delisting These Pairs?

Bybit has not provided a detailed public explanation for the specific delistings. However, exchanges typically remove trading pairs due to low liquidity, declining trading volume, or as part of periodic market health reviews. Delistings can also occur when a token fails to meet ongoing listing criteria related to project development, community activity, or regulatory compliance.

Impact on Traders and Liquidity

For traders holding positions in these pairs, the delisting means they will no longer be able to execute new orders after the deadline. Bybit advises users to close any open positions before the cutoff time to avoid automatic settlement or conversion. The removal of these pairs may also reduce liquidity for the affected tokens on Bybit, potentially pushing trading activity to other exchanges or alternative trading pairs.

What This Means for the Mantle Ecosystem

The delisting disproportionately affects the Mantle (MNT) token, which was paired with eight of the eleven removed pairs. While Bybit still supports MNT against other base currencies like USDT and BTC, the narrowing of available pairs could signal reduced exchange interest in the token. Mantle is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, and its token is used for governance and gas fees within its ecosystem. Traders should monitor whether further delistings occur on other platforms.

Conclusion

Bybit’s decision to delist 11 spot trading pairs reflects ongoing exchange maintenance and risk management practices. While the move is routine, the concentration of delistings around the Mantle token may raise questions about its exchange-level support. Traders should review their portfolios and close affected positions before the July 28 deadline to avoid disruption.

FAQs

Q1: What happens to my open orders on the delisted pairs?
Bybit will cancel any open orders and may automatically close positions after the delisting time. It is recommended to close all positions manually before the deadline.

Q2: Can I still trade MNT on Bybit after the delisting?
Yes, MNT will still be available for trading against other base pairs such as USDT and BTC. Only the specific pairs listed for delisting are affected.

Q3: Why do exchanges delist trading pairs?
Exchanges delist pairs for reasons including low trading volume, insufficient liquidity, regulatory concerns, or failure to meet ongoing listing standards. It is a routine part of exchange operations.
