A widely shared social media post claims that BlackRock has made another Bitcoin purchase, citing a figure of $136.5, but the report remains unverified and lacks the transaction details needed to confirm it. Readers tracking BlackRock’s Bitcoin activity should treat the update as an unconfirmed social media claim rather than an established fact.
The claim originated from a “JUST IN” style alert circulating on Telegram, framed as breaking news about BlackRock adding to its Bitcoin exposure. According to the unconfirmed report, the reported amount is $136.5, though the post does not specify a unit, a wallet, or a transaction reference that would allow independent verification. No block explorer entry, filing, or official BlackRock disclosure accompanies the claim. Without those details, the purchase cannot be traced on-chain or matched to any specific fund flow, so the exact size and timing of any accumulation stay unclear.
Why an Unconfirmed BlackRock Bitcoin Headline Still Draws Attention

BlackRock is among the most closely watched institutional names in Bitcoin coverage, largely through its spot iShares Bitcoin Trust. Any headline linking the asset manager to fresh buying tends to spread quickly, even before the underlying data is confirmed. Institutional accumulation is commonly read as a signal of sustained mainstream interest in Bitcoin. That interpretive weight is why even a thinly sourced accumulation post can move sentiment before anyone verifies the figure.
The firm’s verified purchases have been documented before, including when its ETF acquired 3,450 Bitcoin and a separate report of BlackRock buying $77 million in Bitcoin. Those disclosures came with concrete amounts, which the current $136.5 claim does not.

What Bitcoin Investors Should Watch Next

The practical next step is confirmation. A genuine BlackRock purchase would eventually surface through fund flow data or ETF holdings updates, so watchers are looking for follow-up filings rather than a single unattributed Telegram line.
Earlier reporting has shown how those flows are quantified, such as coverage of $1.9 billion in seven-day spot Bitcoin ETF flows led by BlackRock and a documented $43 million Bitcoin acquisition. That is the kind of verifiable trail this latest claim currently lacks.
If additional accumulation is real, expect it to appear in official ETF disclosures rather than in breaking-news alerts alone. Until then, the reported buy is best treated as a signal to verify, not a confirmed data point.
