Pi Network token is rising ahead of the Protocol v25 upgrade scheduled for July 22, 2026, with traders positioning around the dated network event as the immediate near-term catalyst.
The move higher is unfolding directly ahead of the upgrade rather than in isolation, framing the token’s strength as anticipation-driven rather than a standalone rally. Pi Network’s team has scheduled the Protocol v25 upgrade for July 22, according to reporting on the upgrade timeline. Details tied to the release have circulated through the project’s own channels, including a Pi Network blog post on the v25 menu redesign. Beyond the scheduled date and the upgrade label itself, the available evidence remains limited, so the story stays centered on the token move and the fixed event window.
Why Protocol v25 is the immediate catalyst traders are watching

A network upgrade with a fixed near-term date tends to concentrate trader attention, and Protocol v25 is functioning as that focal point for Pi Network. The token’s rise is tied to anticipation around the release rather than to any confirmed technical change.
The relevance here is one of sentiment and positioning. A dated catalyst gives traders a defined reason to act before the event, which can lift a token independently of broader crypto conditions, a dynamic also seen when Cardano firmed up ahead of its Midnight mainnet milestone.

What the token move could signal into the July 22 window

Because the token is already moving before July 22, 2026, the current action reads as pre-event positioning. The upgrade schedule creates a defined watch window, and attention will stay on whether that momentum holds as the date approaches.
The news value comes from the relationship between the price action and the upcoming catalyst, not from a forecast of where the token settles. That measured framing echoes how markets have reacted to other scheduled events, including moments when large holders repositioned around Ethereum and when ETF flows shifted sentiment across major assets.
With research on this move limited, the disciplined read is that Pi Network’s strength reflects anticipation of a dated upgrade. The key variable now is whether interest sustains into July 22 or fades once the event passes.
