The project dropped an urgent notice on July 14 that caught plenty of users off guard — assets need to move off the chain before a hard deadline hits.
Behind the official bridge link and unstake page sits a bigger question users are already asking in the replies: what actually happens to funds left behind? We break down the deadline, the exact steps, and the concerns nobody's fully answered yet.

DuckChain Announces Urgent Network Upgrade for Asset Migration

On July 14, DuckChain's official account posted a network-wide notice about an incoming infrastructure upgrade. The announcement, styled around a maintenance-themed cartoon duck graphic, told users to move their holdings ahead of time.
The core message was direct: this is one of the most important pieces of news today for anyone active on the network. It is the Telegram AI-focused chain backed by OKX Ventures and other investors, said the upgrade requires assets to be relocated before maintenance begins.
Once the upgrade window opens, the project warns that asset access on the network will be limited. That single line is what's driving urgency across the community — nobody wants funds stuck mid-upgrade.

DuckChain Sets July 20 Deadline for Users to Bridge Assets

The team gave a firm cutoff: all assets should be moved from DuckChain Bridge to TON before July 20, 2026. This applies to both liquid holdings and anything currently staked. Two official links were shared for the migration:

Bridge: bridge.duckchain.io

Unstake: duckchain.io/stake

It is positioning this as the safest path through the bridge to the TON process, rather than routing through third-party tools. Completing the transfer early matters because once the maintenance window starts, support for last-minute requests may be limited — and traders juggling both DUCK and TON positions don't want to be caught mid-transaction when access tightens.

How to Bridge Assets From DuckChain to TON Before the Upgrade

For users still holding funds, the migration follows a simple sequence:

Visit the official DuckChain bridge (never share link in comments or DMs)

Connect your wallet to the bridge interface.

Select the assets you want to move, including $DUCK if applicable.

Confirm the transfer and wait for the Duckchain TON swap to settle on-chain.

Anyone still staking should head to the unstake page first, since staked $DUCK generally needs to be withdrawn before it can move through the bridge.
It has repeatedly stressed that users should double-check URLs before connecting a wallet — phishing sites tend to spike whenever a project pushes an urgent migration notice like this one.

Users Raise Concerns Over Staking and Exchange Assets

The replies under the official announcement weren't all smooth sailing. A number of users reported unresolved issues tied to staking, where funds appeared to be deducted from wallets without the on-chain balance updating to reflect it.
Others asked a more practical question: what happens to $DUCK sitting on centralized exchanges like Gate.io, rather than in a self-custody wallet? The notice covered wallet-to-wallet bridging, but didn't directly address exchange-held balances.
The general guidance from the community, and standard practice across the industry, is that users should check each exchange's own announcements separately — a wallet-side upgrade doesn't automatically mean an exchange has to take any action on its end.

What Happens to DUCK Tokens remaining after July 20?

The project hasn't published a detailed breakdown of what "limited access" will actually look like once the upgrade window begins. What is clear is that the team is treating July 20 as a real cutoff, not a soft suggestion.
Waiting until the final hours carries obvious risk: network congestion, wallet errors, or last-minute confusion over official links could all delay a transfer past the deadline. Users are being encouraged to confirm their migration went through — checking the destination wallet on TON — rather than assuming a transaction succeeded.

How DuckChain Connects TON, Ethereum and EVM Ecosystems

Because it operates as a Layer 2 for TON while remaining EVM-compatible, it's designed to bridge assets — including native TON, typically for gas payments or DeFi activity.
Cross-chain compatibility lets the token move through decentralized apps that support transfers between EVM networks and TON, which is the same infrastructure now being used for this migration.

$DUCK Token Allocation Breakdown

Community & Ecosystem accounts for 77% of total supply, split as:

Airdrop: 50%

Ecosystem Growth: 20%

Liquidity: 4%

Marketing: 3%

The remaining supply is split between Investors (10%), Team (10%), and Advisors (3%). The heavy tilt toward the Duckchain airdrop allocation reflects the project's stated focus on rewarding Miniapp users, on-chain participants, and AI DAO Genesis Members.

Staking Rewards and Network Support

Through Duckchain staking, users back validator nodes and earn proportional rewards. Stakers can also supply liquidity to DuckChain DeFi protocols for additional yield, which is part of why the current unstaking requirement ahead of July 20 matters to so many holders.
Duck Chain roadmap prioritizes deeper market liquidity through partnerships with liquidity providers, along with incentive structures designed to reward genuine long-term participation. Continued optimization of bridge infrastructure — the same rails being used for this migration — is listed as a core technical focus, tying directly into ongoing work around the Duckchain mainnet.

What Should DuckChain Users Do Before the Upgrade?

Bridge all assets from Duck Chain to TON before July 20

Unstake any $DUCK still locked in staking contracts

Confirm wallet balances after the transfer completes

Avoid unofficial or third-party migration links

Keep an eye on official channels for further DuckChain token updates

Conclusion

The July 20 deadline turns a routine infrastructure upgrade into a time-sensitive decision for every wallet and staker on the network. Between unresolved staking complaints and open questions on exchange-held funds, the bridge window is the one piece of Duckchain news today worth acting on rather than just reading. Users who move early avoid the uncertainty entirely — those who wait are betting on a deadline that hasn't shown any sign of softening.
