Polymarket has settled its BLG "Golden Road" prediction market as "No" after Bilibili Gaming failed to secure the MSI title, closing out one of the more unusual esports-linked contracts on the crypto-native platform.

The BLG Golden Road market on Polymarket asked whether Bilibili Gaming could achieve a "Golden Road" in 2026, a term referring to a team winning every major League of Legends title in a single competitive year. The market resolved as "No" after BLG's elimination from MSI, the Mid-Season Invitational. For related coverage, see Standard Chartered Maintains $100,000 Bitcoin Forecast for End of 2026.

MSI serves as one of the two premier international League of Legends tournaments each year, alongside the World Championship. BLG's failure to win the MSI title made the Golden Road mathematically impossible, triggering the contract's resolution.

Why MSI was the decisive milestone

The Golden Road requires a team to sweep every major title in a calendar year. For a Chinese League of Legends Pro League (LPL) team like BLG, that typically includes the LPL Spring split, MSI, the LPL Summer split, and the World Championship.

Missing any single title breaks the chain. Once BLG lost at MSI, no subsequent victories could restore the possibility of a perfect season, making "No" the only valid resolution for the Polymarket contract.

Esports contracts carve out a niche on Polymarket

The BLG Golden Road market represents the growing intersection between crypto prediction platforms and competitive gaming storylines. Polymarket, which operates as a decentralized prediction market on the Polygon blockchain, has expanded well beyond political and financial contracts into sports and esports territory.

The platform has seen significant activity across various sports markets, including a World Cup winner market that hit $3.9 billion in volume. It has also launched perpetual trading features as it broadens its product offering.

Esports-linked contracts like the BLG Golden Road market attract a crossover audience: crypto traders who follow competitive gaming and esports fans curious about prediction markets. The binary nature of tournament outcomes, where a team either wins or does not, makes these contracts straightforward to resolve compared to more subjective markets.

Polymarket's expansion has also drawn regulatory scrutiny in some jurisdictions, with South Korean regulators reviewing the platform over concerns about illegal gambling. The platform has also faced disputes with brands over unauthorized use of logos in certain markets.

What settled traders should know

With the market resolved as "No," traders who held "No" shares receive payouts while "Yes" holders lose their positions. Settlement finality is one of the key features of blockchain-based prediction markets, where outcomes are recorded on-chain and payouts execute automatically.

For traders tracking esports prediction markets, the BLG outcome underscores the high-risk nature of "Grand Slam" style bets. Golden Road contracts require perfection across multiple tournaments spanning months, meaning the probability of a "Yes" outcome is inherently low.
