Lighter (LIT) and Mantle (MNT) have recorded their highest whale transaction activity in six months, signaling renewed engagement from large cryptocurrency holders. According to on-chain analytics platform Santiment, both networks experienced a surge in transactions exceeding $100,000 as volatility continued across the altcoin market.
Santiment reported that Lighter registered 86 whale transactions above the $100,000 threshold, the highest level recorded during the past six months. Mantle followed with 37 transactions of the same size, also reaching a six-month high. Although the data does not reveal whether whales were buying or selling, it confirms that large investors have become considerably more active around both assets.
Meanwhile, the increase comes at a time when many altcoins continue experiencing wider price swings. Consequently, analysts are monitoring whether the renewed whale participation will translate into stronger network activity or sustained market momentum.

Ecosystem Developments Drive Growing Whale Interest

According to Santiment, Lighter’s spike appears linked to growing interest in its perpetual decentralized exchange ecosystem. The analytics firm also pointed to recent tokenomics updates, buyback and burn mechanisms, staking rewards, and partnership discussions as factors attracting larger investors.
Besides improving the platform’s utility, the buyback and burn model reduces circulating supply over time. Staking incentives also encourage holders to lock tokens instead of selling them immediately. Together, these developments have strengthened investor attention as the project continues expanding its ecosystem.

Mantle has also attracted increased whale activity alongside its growing push into real-world asset tokenization. Santiment noted that large investors appear to be responding to the network’s work around tokenized stocks, pre-IPO investment vaults, and additional ecosystem use cases.
Moreover, tokenized real-world assets remain one of blockchain’s fastest-growing segments. As more financial products move on-chain, infrastructure projects supporting these services continue drawing institutional attention. Mantle’s expanding presence in this sector has therefore become another factor influencing whale activity.
Despite these notable spikes, whale transaction data alone cannot determine market direction. Large transfers may represent accumulation, portfolio rebalancing, over-the-counter settlements, or movements between private wallets. Therefore, investors often compare this metric with trading volume, exchange flows, and price action before reaching broader conclusions.

Conclusion

The latest Santiment data highlights a significant increase in whale participation across both Lighter and Mantle. While the transactions do not confirm whether whales are accumulating or distributing tokens, the six-month highs suggest that major investors are closely monitoring both ecosystems as altcoin market volatility persists.
