Upbit, South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, is set to list OpenGradient's OPG token in its Korean won (KRW) market, giving local traders direct fiat access to the token.
The listing, <a href="https://cryptobriefing.com/upbit-opg-krw-listing-july/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">reported by Crypto Briefing</a>, adds OPG as a KRW-denominated trading pair. A KRW-market listing means South Korean users can buy and sell OPG directly with their local currency balances rather than needing to convert through another cryptocurrency first. Upbit has been steadily expanding its KRW market offerings in 2025. The exchange recently <a href="https://www.defiliban.io/upbit-list-up2-krw-btc-usdt-trading-pairs/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">added Venice Token (VVV) with KRW, BTC, and USDT pairs</a>, and before that <a href="https://www.defiliban.io/upbit-list-usd-ai-chip-krw-trading-pair-april-21/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">listed USD AI (CHIP) with a KRW trading pair</a>.

Listing announcements on Upbit typically include specific details about when deposits, withdrawals, and trading go live. These windows do not always align, and trading may open before withdrawals are enabled. Traders should confirm deposit and withdrawal availability directly on Upbit's official announcements page before placing orders. Early trading on newly listed KRW pairs can carry elevated volatility risk, as price discovery occurs with limited order book depth.
Upbit's KRW pairs tend to attract significant attention from South Korean retail traders. The exchange has previously seen sharp initial price moves on newly listed tokens, particularly those with smaller circulating supplies.
<h2 id="why-krw-market-access-changes-the-picture-for-opg">Why KRW Market Access Changes the Picture for OPG</h2>
A KRW listing on Upbit is notable because it removes a layer of friction for one of the world's most active retail trading markets. South Korea consistently ranks among the top countries for cryptocurrency trading volume relative to population.
For OpenGradient, the listing expands OPG's visibility to an audience that may not have had easy access to the token previously. Upbit's broader <a href="https://www.defiliban.io/upbit-lists-peaq-lit-kmno-morpho-gram-ldo-paxg-osmo/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">pattern of listing new tokens across multiple pairs</a> suggests the exchange continues to prioritize expanding its asset selection.
Market response to new exchange listings varies widely. While increased accessibility can drive initial interest and liquidity, sustained trading activity depends on factors beyond the listing event itself. Traders should approach early price action with caution.
