Complete Guide for 2025

# What is Alien Worlds (TLM)? Complete Guide for 2025

Alien Worlds (TLM) is a leading blockchain-based metaverse game where players mine, battle, and govern a decentralized virtual universe, with TLM serving as both its in-game currency and governance token. Built on the WAX blockchain with cross-chain bridges to BNB Chain and Ethereum, Alien Worlds has become one of the most popular play-to-earn (P2E) NFT games, attracting over 1 million monthly active users by 2025. This guide explains everything you need to know about Alien Worlds, its tokenomics, gameplay, and investment potential.

How Does Alien Worlds Work? The Core Gameplay Mechanics

Alien Worlds simulates a decentralized economy where players compete for Trilium (TLM), the native cryptocurrency. The game is built around six unique planets, each governed by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). Players can choose from three primary activities:

Mining for TLM

Mining is the most accessible entry point. Players equip NFT tools (e.g., drills, extractors) to mine TLM from plots of land. Each mining action consumes in-game energy, which regenerates over time. The rarer the tool, the higher the TLM yield. By 2025, mining efficiency has improved with dynamic difficulty adjustments based on network activity.

Land Ownership and Development

Players can purchase NFT land parcels, which generate passive TLM income from mining fees. Landowners can also build structures (e.g., factories, warehouses) to boost yields or stake tokens for governance voting. High-value land near resource-rich zones commands premium prices in secondary marketplaces.

Battling and Quests

Combat involves using NFT weapon and shield cards to fight monsters or other players in arena-style battles. Winning yields TLM and rare NFT drops. Quest missions, introduced in 2024, offer storyline-driven challenges with escalating rewards.

Alien Worlds Tokenomics: TLM Supply, Staking, and Governance

TLM has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens, with a deflationary mechanism through token burns from in-game transactions. As of 2025, approximately 6.5 billion TLM are in circulation. Key tokenomics features include:

Staking for Governance

TLM holders can stake tokens to vote on planetary DAO proposals, such as adjusting mining rewards, approving new NFT collections, or allocating treasury funds. Staking also yields a variable APR (currently 8-12%) paid in TLM.

Cross-Chain Bridges

TLM operates natively on WAX, but bridges to BNB Chain and Ethereum allow users to trade on major DEXs like PancakeSwap and Uniswap. This liquidity has stabilized TLM’s price around $0.03-$0.05 in 2025, with occasional spikes during game updates.

Burning Mechanisms

Each mining action burns 0.01 TLM, and NFT transactions on the in-game marketplace burn 1% of the sale price. These burns have removed over 200 million TLM from circulation since launch, supporting long-term value.

Alien Worlds NFTs: Tools, Land, and Collectibles

The game’s NFT ecosystem is vast, with over 10 million unique assets minted. Key categories include:

Mining Tools (Weapons, Extractors, and Drills)

Rarity tiers range from Common to Mythic. A Legendary drill can mine 5x more TLM per action than a Common one. Tools can be upgraded using TLM and shards, increasing their effectiveness and resale value.

Land Parcels

Each planet has a fixed number of land plots (e.g., 10,000 per planet). Land generates passive income based on its rarity and proximity to resource nodes. Prime land on the planet Neri (known for high TLM density) sells for 5,000-10,000 TLM.

Character Avatars and Companions

Players can mint unique avatars with stat boosts (e.g., mining speed, combat strength). Companion NFTs, like robotic pets, provide passive bonuses during quests.

How to Start Playing Alien Worlds in 2025: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Set Up a WAX Wallet

Download the WAX Cloud Wallet or Anchor wallet. Fund it with WAXP (the network’s native token) for transaction fees. You can buy WAXP on Binance or KuCoin.

Step 2: Acquire TLM and NFTs

Buy TLM on a centralized exchange (e.g., Binance, Kraken) or swap WAXP for TLM on Alcor Exchange. Then, visit the Alien Worlds Atomichub marketplace to purchase starter NFTs (a Common drill costs ~10 TLM).

Step 3: Start Mining

Navigate to the Alien Worlds dApp, select a planet (e.g., Magor), and equip your drill. Click “Mine” to earn TLM. Use energy wisely—each mine consumes 1 energy point, and you regenerate 5 energy per hour.

Step 4: Stake and Vote

Stake at least 100 TLM to participate in planetary governance. Voting on proposals earns bonus TLM rewards.

Alien Worlds vs. Other Metaverse Games: Competitive Edge in 2025

Alien Worlds stands out from competitors like *The Sandbox* and *Decentraland* due to its low entry barrier and mobile-friendly interface.

– Cost Efficiency: Mining requires no upfront land purchase—anyone with a cheap NFT tool can start earning immediately.

– Cross-Platform Accessibility: The game runs on browsers and mobile via the WAX Wallet app, unlike GPU-intensive metaverse platforms.

– Active DAO Governance: With over 50,000 active voters across six planets, Alien Worlds has one of the most engaged decentralized communities in gaming.

– Real Yield: Unlike speculative P2E games, TLM mining provides consistent small rewards that compound over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Is Alien Worlds free to play?

No, but it is low-cost. You need to purchase at least one mining tool NFT (starting at ~$0.30 USD) and pay minimal WAXP transaction fees (~$0.01 per action). No subscription is required.

Q2: Can I earn real money from Alien Worlds?

Yes, by mining TLM and selling it on exchanges like Binance or through NFT flips. However, earnings depend on tool quality, game activity, and TLM’s market price. Average daily earnings for a casual player with common tools are $0.50-$2.00.

Q3: What is the difference between TLM and WAXP?

TLM is the in-game currency for Alien Worlds, used for mining, staking, and transactions within the game. WAXP is the native token of the WAX blockchain, used for transaction fees and staking on the network. You need WAXP to pay for gas when mining or trading NFTs.

Q4: Is Alien Worlds a good investment in 2025?

It depends on your risk tolerance. TLM has shown steady utility growth with a capped supply and deflationary burns. However, like all crypto gaming tokens, it is volatile. Long-term holders may benefit from increased adoption, but short-term price swings are common.

Q5: How do I stake TLM for governance?

Connect your WAX wallet to the Alien Worlds dApp, navigate to the “Staking” tab, choose a planet, and stake a minimum of 100 TLM. You can then vote on proposals and claim rewards weekly. Unstaking takes 72 hours.

Conclusion

Alien Worlds (TLM) remains a compelling entry point into blockchain gaming in 2025, offering a genuine play-to-earn model with low barriers, active governance, and a robust NFT economy. Whether you are a casual miner or a serious investor, the game provides multiple ways to engage—from daily mining to strategic land speculation.
