Did you receive a message about a $500,000 ApeMars airdrop? Do not click the link.
A message circulating in ApeMars-related Telegram channels claims a $500,000 presale bonus is now available, offering each holder between $1,000 and $5,000 in free APEMARS allocation. The message directs users to apemars-defi.xyz with instructions to connect a wallet and approve a transaction. This is not an official announcement. It carries every verified hallmark of a wallet-drainer phishing scam, and this article explains exactly why.

This warning matters now more than ever. The official X account and Instagram have remained suspended since the June 7, 2026 crash, leaving Telegram as the only channel many holders trust — and that exact vacuum is what phishing operations are built to exploit.

ApeMars Scam Alert: What the Fake Airdrop Message Actually Says

The message reads: "APEMARS is pleased to announce that $500,000 pre-sale Bonus rewards loyal owners. Each holder will receive $1000 - $5000 allocation of the pre-sale value depending on your eligibility."
It then provides a five-step process: visit apemars-defi.xyz, click "Claim Token," connect your wallet, approve the transaction, and receive your tokens instantly.
Every element of that structure is a documented phishing pattern used repeatedly across crypto Telegram channels in 2025 and 2026. The domain is not the official ApeMars site. The official, verified domain throughout the entire ApeMars story — presale, listing, crash coverage, and the verified July 5 claim deadline — has consistently been apemars.com. The domain in this message, apemars-defi.xyz, has never appeared in any verified ApeMars communication.
A genuine wallet-drainer attack works exactly this way. The site asks you to "connect your wallet" — appearing harmless. Then it asks you to "approve the transaction" — this is the critical step. That approval can grant a malicious smart contract permission to move tokens out of your wallet, not deposit tokens into it. Vague eligibility language like "depending on your eligibility" with a wide dollar range is specifically designed so that every reader believes they personally qualify, increasing click-through rates.

ApeMars Scam Alert: Five Signs This Is a Wallet-Drainer Attempt

Here are five verified red flags present in this specific message.
Red flag one — the domain does not match the official site. apemars-defi.xyz is not apemars.com. Scammers commonly register lookalike domains with added words like "defi," "claim," or "official" attached to the real project name.
Red flag two — free money with no purchase history check. Legitimate token claims are tied to a wallet address that already holds a verified balance from a presale purchase. A flat "$1,000 to $5,000 depending on eligibility" offer with no specific balance check is a generic hook designed to maximize clicks, not verify ownership.
Red flag three — the timing exploits a communication vacuum. ApeMars' official X and Instagram accounts have been suspended since June 7, 2026 with no public explanation. Telegram remains the only verified channel. Phishing operations specifically target communities that have lost their primary verified channel, because community members have no easy way to cross-check a suspicious post against an official account.
Red flag four — "approve the transaction" is the actual attack vector. Approval requests are how malicious sites gain permission to move assets out of a connected wallet. A legitimate airdrop claim never requires approving a transaction that grants broad spending permissions — it typically only requires signing a message to verify wallet ownership.
Red flag five — urgency language with no verifiable source. The message uses promotional emoji and exclamation marks consistent with a marketing push rather than an official project communication, which typically includes specific verification details, contract addresses, and references to prior official announcements — none of which appear here.

ApeMars Scam Alert: How to Protect Your Wallet Right Now

If you have not interacted with apemars-defi.xyz, here is what to do.
Do not visit the link. Do not connect any wallet to apemars-defi.xyz under any circumstance. There is no announcement confirming this airdrop.
Verify only through apemars.com. The official claim portal for legitimate APRZ allocations has always been apemars.com. The verified contract address is 0xaab17f1fccea5be51f6e2a5254927e06b06a985f on Ethereum Mainnet. Cross-check any claim instruction against this address on Etherscan.io before approving anything.
If you already connected your wallet and approved a transaction, act immediately. Use a wallet revocation tool such as revoke.cash to check and remove token approvals granted to the malicious contract. Move any remaining assets to a new, secure wallet if you suspect compromise. Do not wait — drainer contracts often execute the moment broad approval is granted.
Report the message. Flag the Telegram post to channel admins and report the domain to relevant phishing databases if possible. This protects other holders who may see the same message.
Treat any future ApeMars communication with the same scrutiny. Until the official X account is restored or an explanation is published, every claim, airdrop, or recovery message circulating on Telegram should be independently verified against apemars.com before any action is taken — including the previously confirmed July 5, 2026 claim deadline for legitimate presale tokens, which remains a separate and verified process through the official site only.

Conclusion

The ApeMars $500,000 airdrop message circulating on Telegram is not a verified official announcement. The domain apemars-defi.xyz does not match the official site, and the claim flow follows a documented wallet-drainer pattern. If you have not clicked the link, do not. If you have, revoke wallet approvals immediately and move your assets. Every ApeMars communication should be verified against apemars.com only until the official X account is restored.
