Gate DEX has officially launched its Welfare Center, a new rewards hub where users can complete tasks to earn up to 5,400+ USDT in rewards alongside free Gas benefits designed to lower the cost of on-chain participation.
The launch positions the Welfare Center as a dedicated campaign feature within the Gate DEX ecosystem. According to the announcement, the program combines token-denominated incentives with transaction fee subsidies, targeting both new and existing users of the decentralized exchange platform.
What the Gate DEX Welfare Center Offers

The Welfare Center functions as a task-based rewards hub hosted on Gate's platform. Users who complete designated tasks within the center become eligible for rewards denominated in USDT, with a stated ceiling of over 5,400 USDT. The program pairs these USDT incentives with free Gas benefits. Gas fees, the transaction costs required to execute trades and transfers on blockchain networks, remain one of the primary friction points for DEX users. By subsidizing these costs, Gate DEX removes a barrier that often discourages smaller traders from participating in decentralized trading.
The structure mirrors approaches seen across the broader exchange landscape, where platforms increasingly use reward campaigns to drive user engagement. Similar incentive models have appeared elsewhere in the industry, such as WEEX's zero-fee trading event offering a 30,000 USDT airdrop, reflecting a competitive trend among exchanges to attract active traders through direct financial incentives.

How the Task-Based Reward System Works

The Welfare Center ties its rewards directly to task completion rather than passive holding or trading volume alone. The "up to 5,400+ USDT" framing indicates a cumulative maximum across multiple tasks or tiers, meaning individual payouts likely vary based on the scope and difficulty of each completed activity.
While specific task categories have not been fully detailed in the initial announcement, task-based reward programs on DEX platforms typically involve actions such as completing trades, providing liquidity, referring new users, or interacting with specific trading pairs. Users should consult Gate's official documentation for exact eligibility requirements and payout mechanics.
The reward denomination in USDT is notable. As a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, USDT rewards offer participants a predictable value compared to volatile token airdrops. The rising USDT premium observed in certain markets underscores the continued global demand for dollar-denominated stablecoin access.

Why Free Gas Benefits Matter for DEX Adoption

Gas fee subsidies address one of the most cited pain points in decentralized finance. On networks like Ethereum, transaction fees can spike during periods of congestion, making small trades economically unviable. Free Gas benefits effectively lower the minimum viable trade size on Gate DEX.
The competitive significance of Gas subsidies is growing across the DEX landscape. OKX Wallet, for instance, has offered traders up to 20% lower Gas fees on its DEX aggregator, signaling that fee reduction has become a key differentiator among decentralized trading platforms.
For Gate DEX, bundling Gas subsidies with USDT rewards creates a dual incentive. Users save on execution costs while earning rewards for participation, a combination designed to encourage repeat usage rather than one-time engagement.

Growth Strategy Behind the Welfare Center

The Welfare Center launch reflects a broader user acquisition and retention strategy. By combining task-based USDT rewards with Gas fee elimination, Gate DEX is targeting two distinct user segments: reward-motivated traders drawn by the earning potential and cost-sensitive users attracted by reduced transaction expenses.
This type of campaign structure, where platforms invest in direct user subsidies, has become standard practice in the competitive DEX market. The approach aims to build habitual usage patterns. Users who complete initial tasks and experience zero-Gas trading may be more likely to continue using the platform after the campaign period ends.
The launch also serves as a discovery mechanism. Task completion typically requires users to explore different features of the platform, from specific trading pairs to liquidity pools, increasing familiarity with the full product suite. Prediction and reward-based campaigns have similarly been used by platforms like Polymarket to drive engagement through structured participation.
