The World Cup knockout stage is not the same tournament as the group stage. The bracket concentrates everything — volume, stakes, and attention — onto fewer matches, and several markets settle under rules that are easy to miss if you carried group-stage habits into the last eight. A bet that would have cashed in the group stage can fail on the same call in the quarterfinals if you used the wrong market.
What follows covers the main betting markets for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final, exactly how each one settles, and which crypto sportsbooks are actually built for this stage of the tournament.
Quick reference:

The "to advance" market covers the full tie including extra time and penalties — the 90-minute moneyline does not.

Totals, BTTS, and player props settle on 90 minutes plus stoppage only. Goals in extra time do not count.

Outright prices compress sharply as the bracket narrows — timing matters as much as team selection.

In the knockout rounds, limits, market depth, and live coverage through extra time matter more than payout speed.

Among crypto sportsbooks, Cloudbet leads on all three, and adds VIP benefits — cashback on every bet, no-limit betting, and priority withdrawals — that compound across the bracket.

The Main World Cup Knockout Stage Markets

The knockout rounds use the same core markets as the group stage, with one addition that does not exist anywhere else in the tournament. The settlement rules on several of them are different — and that gap is where most mistakes happen. All ten are available on the Cloudbet sportsbook across the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final.
1. To Advance — The knockout-specific market. Covers the full tie: 90 minutes, extra time, and a penalty shootout if it comes to that. Back a team to advance and it does not matter how they get there — a win on penalties cashes the ticket. This market does not exist in the group stage.
2. 90-Minute Result (Three-Way Moneyline) — Settles on regulation time only. A match that finishes 1-1 after 90 minutes is a draw on this market, full stop — it does not matter that one team goes on to win the shootout. Using this market in a knockout game when you want to back the winner is the most common and expensive mistake of the tournament.
3. Totals (Over/Under Goals) — Goals in 90 minutes plus stoppage only. Germany's 7-1 against Curaçao illustrates why alternate lines are worth checking on high-scoring teams, but the standard line of 2.5 does not include anything that happens after the final whistle.
4. Both Teams to Score (BTTS) — Yes or no on whether each side finds the net in 90 minutes plus stoppage. Extra time does not count.
5. Draw No Bet — Refunds the stake if the 90-minute result is a draw, at reduced odds. Useful when backing a narrow favourite that could easily be dragged into extra time.
6. Asian Handicap — A virtual goal margin applied to one side, settled on 90 minutes. A handicap of 0 is functionally the same as draw no bet.
7. Player Props — Anytime scorer, first scorer, to score two or more, assists where offered. With Haaland on four goals in two group games and Messi on five, the Golden Boot race makes anytime scorer props genuinely relevant in the knockout rounds — these are players who score in most matches they play.
8. Correct Score — The exact 90-minute scoreline at fixed odds. Higher variance than anything else on this list; lower stakes are appropriate.
9. Outright Futures — Settles after the final. France, Germany, and Argentina have all shortened considerably after strong group stages — a team's price entering the quarterfinal can look nothing like what was available at kick-off. The window to get value closes quickly. Cloudbet's World Cup outright market stays live and repricing through to the final.
10. Live In-Play — Lines reprice continuously after goals, cards, and substitutions. When a match enters extra time, the 90-minute markets close and new lines open separately. The quality of a platform's live product is most visible in knockout matches that run to 120 minutes.

Norway or Argentina finish 1-1 after 90 minutes and one of them wins on penalties. The "to advance" bet on the winner pays. The 90-minute moneyline settles as a draw. These are different bets and the distinction matters every single knockout round.

What Should You Look for in a Sportsbook for the Knockout Rounds?

Forty-eight group-stage games spread the betting across a month. The knockout rounds compress all of that interest into eight quarterfinals, four semifinals, and a final — and that shift changes what a sportsbook needs to deliver.

Limits — a platform that accepts reasonable stakes on a group game may quietly restrict them when Argentina or France reaches the final. You find out at the worst possible moment.

Market depth — when a single fixture has to carry all the betting interest, a book with ten markets for a match covers it less completely than one with thirty.

Live coverage through extra time — group games end at 90 minutes. Knockout games sometimes do not. A platform that loses market depth once extra time starts is a different product than it was in the group stage.

Payout speed matters less at this stage. The match calendar slows to one or two games every few days — there is no urgency to move funds between fixtures at the pace of the group stage. The rankings below are based on exactly these three criteria — and it is where Cloudbet's soccer coverage leads.

Which Crypto Sportsbooks Cover the World Cup Knockout Stage Best?

This ranking is based on the three criteria above: market depth, limit capacity, and live coverage through extra time.

1. Cloudbet

Cloudbet is the benchmark crypto sportsbook for high-stakes World Cup betting — deep markets across all knockout fixtures, no withdrawal ceiling for fully verified accounts, and live coverage that runs through extra time and into penalty decisions without suspending. The VIP programme pays back on every bet with permanent tiers that never reset, meaning progress from the group stage carries into the final.
It launched in 2013, is licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority, and is one of the few platforms from that era still operating — a track record that matters in crypto, where platforms disappear and trust is hard to verify.

2. Stake

Stake has a broad live product and fast crypto processing, and suits bettors who want a large, active platform with a high-profile portfolio of sports partnerships. A good fit for bettors who prioritise live market breadth.

3. Sportsbet.io

Sportsbet.io has been running since 2016 under the Coingaming Group and carries high-profile sports partnerships of its own. It is a clean, sports-first platform with fast crypto withdrawals and competitive odds on major football markets. Well-suited to straightforward match betting.

4. BC.Game

BC.Game offers one of the widest altcoin deposit ranges on this list, which suits bettors who hold crypto outside the major coins. The platform combines sportsbook and casino with a gamified rewards structure, and is a popular choice among recreational crypto players.
Whichever platform you use, comparing prices across two or three books before placing a bet is the most reliable source of value across a knockout tournament. The same market on a semifinal can vary meaningfully between sportsbooks — that difference is profit given away for no additional risk.
