170 million tokens are set for Season 2 distribution — and a brand-new in-app wallet launching in mid-July may be the only way to claim them.
For investors who spent months running nodes and farming points, what happens in the next 30 days could determine whether that effort pays off — or gets diluted by a 33.4M token unlock hitting on June 28.
Here's what most reports aren't telling you about the Grass airdrop eligibility checker, the July 7 Network Participation Call, and the one move that changes everything.

What Just Happened With Grass Crypto?

The network just dropped two major announcements back-to-back this month, and together they paint a clearer picture of what Season 2 actually looks like.
First, the project officially confirmed a native in-app non-custodial wallet for every account — no MetaMask, no third-party setup. The Wallet update is expected to go live in mid-July 2026, secured by passkey (Face ID or fingerprint) or email OTP. It itself has no access to your private keys.
Second, the team announced a public Token Holder and Network Participant Call on July 7, open to all — including regular users. Questions can be submitted in advance. This is where roadmap details, business milestones, and — most likely — Season 2 specifics will be shared.

Why the Grass Wallet Update Changes the Airdrop Claim Process

This isn't just a convenience feature. Based on available signals, the Grass airdrop claim for Season 2 is expected to route directly through this native wallet — meaning users without it set up may face delays.
The wallet also supports MoonPay integration, letting eligible users withdraw converted funds to a debit account, Venmo, or PayPal. For users outside major exchange markets, this is a significant access upgrade.
Additionally, the Grass OKX partnership, highlighted in a recent co-published explainer, positions the project at the intersection of Data and AI infrastructure — reinforcing that this isn't just another airdrop play. The news from OKX's side underscores the project's institutional backing heading into Season 2.

Key Dates, Token Price, and Unlock Data to Watch

Here's a snapshot of critical numbers for traders tracking the token price and supply dynamics:

Currently, ~552M tokens (55.2% of total supply) is already circulating. The June 28 unlock adds another 33.4M — and with Season 2 distribution on deck, the Grass coin circulating supply could spike significantly in a short window.
Grass airdrop listing date for S2 tokens has not been officially confirmed yet, but community consensus points to an announcement at or after the July 7 call.

What the New Native Wallet Means for Users

The upcoming launches could significantly simplify the user experience by removing the need for external extensions and complex setup steps.
With built-in security features such as passkeys and email verification, users may be able to access token distributions more seamlessly. The update also signals a broader push toward making the ecosystem more accessible to mainstream participants.

Unconfirmed Season 2 Tier Estimates Circulating Online

Community sources have shared speculative tier-based token estimates for the Grass airdrop Season 2 (Tokens)

Tier I → 25+

Tier V → 2,500+

Tier X → 7,000+

These figures are not officially confirmed. Actual allocations under the eligibility checker will depend on your tier, watch hours/activity, and Diamonds earned — a new metric introduced in S2. Treat any circulating numbers as estimates until the July 7 call.
For reference on Grass airdrop price expectations: The current value and post-distribution price pressure will depend heavily on staking adoption and broader market demand following the unlock.

Conclusion

It is consolidating two major moves into a tight July window that will likely define S2 for millions of node operators. The 170M token pool is confirmed; the claim mechanics and eligibility are what July 7 is expected to unlock. Watch the call, set up your wallets early, and track the June 28 unlock's market impact before making any position decisions.
