Most people who encounter $YOM ask the same question: what does the token actually do? It is a fair question. Here is the answer.
The crypto space has trained people to be skeptical of tokens that exist without a clear function. That skepticism is reasonable. $YOM was built to have one, and the function is specific.
This is a plain answer to the most common question we get: what does the token do, what does it not do, and why does the network need one at all.
the problem the token solves
A decentralized cloud gaming network has a coordination problem that centralized networks do not.
When thousands of independent GPU operators spread across different countries, running different hardware, with different uptime patterns contribute compute to serve game sessions, someone has to keep the books. Someone has to measure the work, route the rewards, and make sure the whole system settles fairly without a single company holding the ledger in private.
That is the job $YOM does. Nothing more, nothing less.
what the token does, specifically
Every time a game session runs on the network, a node somewhere serves the compute. From there, three things happen.
Settlement. The settlement contract on Avalanche C-Chain reads the contribution uptime, region, demand served and routes $YOM accordingly. No invoices. No off-chain spreadsheets. The contract handles it, and every settlement is verifiable by anyone.
Programmatic burn. A portion of network usage triggers a burn that is wired directly into the contract. When the network is used, tokens are removed from circulation automatically. The burn is not a marketing event scheduled by us. It happens because usage happens.
Contract administration under timelock. Privileged access sits behind a 2-of-3 multisig with a 48-hour timelock. Any administrative change is publicly visible before it executes. No single wallet, no instant changes.
what $YOM is not
We are direct about this part because the standards we hold ourselves to require it.
$YOM is not designed as an investment instrument. It does not represent ownership in YOM. It does not confer dividend rights, governance rights, or a claim on the company. Node rewards are variable they depend on actual services delivered, uptime, region, and network conditions. There is no fixed return, and any figure circulating that suggests otherwise is not from us.
the short version
$YOM is the unit that allows a decentralized network to operate itself. Operators are paid because the contract metered their work. Burn happens because usage happened. And when the contracts need to be administered, those changes are delayed and visible never private, never instant.
Token utility is downstream of physical network utilization. That is the design principle, and it is the only one we build around.
the home chain, and how to verify the rest
The official contract on the home chain Avalanche C-Chain is 0xb6314518b61b4864162c7aE7fdc36261e0A14C4b. Cross-chain availability is provided via LayerZero, Treat any cross-chain version as official only if it traces back to YOM's LayerZero-supported deployment and is verified through our official sources.
