For most of the past decade, doing anything in crypto meant juggling apps. One to store your coins, another to <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/explained/what-is-crypto-cryptocurrency-explained" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">trade</a> them, a third to move funds between <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/explained/what-is-blockchain-explained" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">blockchains</a>, a fourth to <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/explained/what-are-yield-coins" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">earn yield</a>, and yet another to spend. Each solved one problem and left users stitching the rest together themselves.
A new category of products, sometimes called neofinance apps, is trying to collapse all of that into one screen. The idea is the same one that made traditional banking apps stick: let people save, invest, send money, and pay from a single place, without hopping between platforms.
Tria is one of them. The self-custodial app, which says it serves more than 500,000 users across 150-plus countries and counts Polychain and the Ethereum Foundation among its backers, pitches itself as a single account for everything a crypto user does. "Self-custodial" means the user keeps control of their own assets rather than handing them to an exchange.

According to <a href="https://app.tria.so/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Tria </a>Head of Business Development &amp; Partnerships Ronald Tato, that is exactly the problem his company is trying to solve.
<blockquote>
 "The whole point of Tria is basically to combine what an everyday crypto user or even regular user would do on potentially more than five different applications into one interface," Tato said in an interview with Roundtable's <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/author/alp-gasimov" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Alp Gasimov</a>.
</blockquote>
<h2 id="why-crypto-became-fragmented">Why crypto became fragmented</h2>
Crypto services grew up in silos. Storage, trading, payments, and moving assets across <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/tag/blockchain" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">blockchain</a> networks each became its own product, with its own app and its own learning curve. The hardest part for newcomers is often bridging, the process of moving a token from one blockchain to another, which can involve several steps and unfamiliar risks.
Tato said Tria's job is to hide that complexity.
<blockquote>
 "We solve that behind the scenes," he said. "The user doesn't really need to know or understand how bridging works."
</blockquote>
Instead of forcing users to manage technical processes themselves, the platform handles much of the infrastructure in the background while presenting a more familiar financial experience.

<h2 id="where-decibel-fits-into-the-picture">Where Decibel fits into the picture</h2>
One of the newest additions to Tria's growing ecosystem is <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/explained/explained-what-is-a-perpetual-dex-a-wall-street-primer-featuring-decibel" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">perpetual futures trading</a> through <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/explained/explained-what-is-a-perpetual-dex-a-wall-street-primer-featuring-decibel" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Decibel</a>, bringing onchain derivatives trading directly into the platform.
While <a href="https://app.tria.so/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Tria </a>focuses on the user experience, Decibel provides the trading infrastructure underneath it.
According to Decibel Head of Product Alyssa Ponzo, the company's primary focus is building a fully onchain trading engine.

"When you're trading on a DEX, what you're agreeing to is the rules of the smart contract," Ponzo said.
<blockquote>
 "Every piece of information of how your position is liquidated, the matching, the settlement, all of that happens as part of the logic of the Decibel smart contract," Ponzo said.
</blockquote>
By integrating Decibel directly into Tria, users can access <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/explained/explained-what-is-a-perpetual-dex-a-wall-street-primer-featuring-decibel" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">perpetual futures trading</a> without leaving the application, reinforcing the broader goal of bringing multiple financial services under one roof.
<h2 id="the-future-of-neofinance">The future of neofinance</h2>
Both companies believe financial applications will continue becoming more integrated.
Tato pointed to future products involving payments, virtual accounts and global money movement. Ponzo highlighted developments in artificial intelligence and natural-language interfaces that could simplify trading even further.
<a href="https://app.tria.so/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Tria </a>recently launched Season 3, a rewards campaign that emphasizes trading activity through Decibel while continuing to reward spending, earning and referrals, reflecting the company's broader effort to bring more financial services into a single platform.
As blockchain technology becomes more accessible, users may spend less time thinking about wallets, bridges and networks, and more time simply using financial products.
"These tools can be much more simple for normal users," Ponzo said.
